JERK! Big HUGE JERK! Mark was pretty high in the course in the beginning and then very slowly went down. Not very helpful. Class average very low. IF YOU WANT A GOOD MARK...DON'T GET STUCK IN A CLASS WITH HIM TEACHING.

He's hardcore in his expectations and marking but really really made class fun. Caliban court was cool and he always tried to get us to talk. The thing that sucked was that so many students didn't even read the material and Dr. S. was always trying to find new ways to get us hyped. Because of this class I'm going to major in english lit.

Well-planned lectures and the entire course involved layers of theory, history and writing. It was great to get to the end and see it all come together. Unforgettable and inspiring class with a teacher whose enthusiasm was constant.

Boring prof. Used the terms 'station', 'sense of play' too much. Kept referring back to "Alice In Wonderland" thru the rest of the year. Essay comments were somewhat helpful. The only GREAT thing about his class were the books: "Alice In Wonderland", "Dracula", "Great Expectations", "The Picture of Dorian Gray", and most of the poems were good too.

a knowledgable teacher who definitely knows his material. he can be intimidating but is very approachable and eager to discuss anything unclear. encourages students to present their views, and i respect him for that but seriously Jon, you need to stop talking sometimes :)
