I graduated last year and this class was the launching pad for my career. I have been in touch with the professor ever since and he has helped me get a job and navigate many aspects of the work world beyond school. Don't take the class lightly. It will help you succeed if you listen and do the work. I owe him my livelihood.

Tough class for 2 credits. Makes you think. Brilliant take on the real world. Challenged us to express things that some students are afraid to express. I admire his stature and his ability to give us the tools to succeed. Really loved the class.

Best class that I ever took at Pratt. Jon is cool and down to earth. Never talks down to students. Very helpful in his critiques of assignments. As long as you want to learn, take the class. If you're looking for some soft sell crap, go elsewhere.

Professor was always on time, always prepared, super helpful with individual issues. He made it a point to always ask us about our individual circumstances, with regard to clients, freelance work, working for friends, etc. Exceptional insight and vision about the field. Loved the class.

When I first walked into his class, there were 5 handouts on each desk. I thought, damn, this is the most organized professor at Pratt! He turned out to be more than that. His understanding of business issues is vast. The class was dynamic and different each week. He helped me alot. Great instructor.

Professor makes it clear that you have to step up in this class. Very helpful with work related issues. Great negotiation lecture and workshop. Contracts helped me a lot. Very concerned that students to well. Very up to date on social media and other current trends. Best instructor at Pratt.

I expected a lot more from this class. This teacher is knowledgeable of the freelance industry, but he spent most of the time telling us random stories of how he yelled at different people long enough to get what he wanted. Most of his advice isn't applicable to ages, races, or genders other than his own. How to do taxes? Better off googling it.

If you're going to enter the creative field, and you want to know how to survive, this class will prepare you. He is humble but confident. His lectures are on point and insightful. I found him to be open minded and extremely brilliant, especially when it comes to negotiation and legal matters. He also cares about us intensely. Loved the class.

He is one of the best professors I've ever had! His business class will teach you everything you'll need to know being a working artist or freelancer. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to be prepared for the real world, his advice is crucial. Some of the assignments are really hard, but they pay off and will really help you in the long run.

This professor changed my perspective about how to deal with many professional issues. He also encouraged dialogue about very up to the minute issues of social media, the Internet and how to monetize the time spent in those areas. He was very helpful when I had some questions after class about some personal business.

If you want a holistic understanding of the business of visual communications, take this class. The assignments set me up really well to succeed. Class discussions were honest, and insightful. Students who get it, will get it. Those who don't will crash and burn. Weiman is a nice guy, but don't mess with him.
