Professor Grasso is really easy-going and friendly. She speaks very quietly, so its important to sit close to her and write down everything she says. Her class is VERY straightforward and there are no trick questions on her exams. Show up, pay somewhat attention to her and review before her exams and you'll do well in her class. Grasso rules!

She is such a nice professor. She is very knowledgeable and knows her history. She is very helpful when you ask her and is dedicated to your time to really help you understand. Exams are essay format, so just know the terms provided and you can easily get an A on exams. She speaks quite softly (may be hard to hear), but writes good notes on board.

Prof Grasso is so sweet! She is a genius and hardly looks at her notes when she lectures. If you show up to class and pay attention and take good notes you will get a good grade. Very fair grader and makes info clear. Each class is like a lecture so be prepared to write notes. Readings are dense and long, not necessary if you go to class. Love her

This woman, incredible. By far the most genuinely caring professor I've ever had. She will happily stay after class to explain things to you. Very understanding and lenient. Her tests are easy and straightforward as long as you take good notes in class. I don't do the readings and still get As on her tests. 4 grades for the whole semester, 25% each

I absolutely adore Professor Grasso. She's super sweet and amazingly helpful. She's always clear during lectures and is always available to help her students. She takes the higher grades you get in class and makes them count more than your not so great grades which is amazing. I would love to take her again. Sweetest woman and fair grader.

Grasso knows her stuff, that is certainly clear. However, discussion sections are like an additional lecture; she talks the entire time without ever engaging her students in discussion. The only time a student talks is to ask a question, she never asks us questions, which is a part of the learning experience imo.

Fantastic professor - I had so little interest in both Russian and Chinese history prior to taking SS201, but HER classes in specific (as opposed to other professor's lectures) are what made me announce a minor in IR, she great, and encouraging if you approach her. She's always helpful, and strangely motherly as a professor. Definitely phenomenal!!

Grasso is UNREAL. She's the smartest women I've met in my life thus far. Can lecture for an hour and not look at her notes. Answers any question you have. If you study, you'll do fine on the tests. She's just so great!!

Grasso is amazing. She speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese! Her lectures and discussions are very informative and to-the-point, but sometimes slightly unorganized. She's extremely willing to answer any questions (even stupid ones). I felt a little unprepared for the midterm and final, but her team exams were very fair and relatively easy.

I loved Grasso! It took a little bit to get used to her teaching style. But once I did I was so impressed by how knowledgable she was. Ask her any question about China and Russia and she can answer it right away. So helpful, honest, nice, smart and interesting.

Grasso knows her stuff. She is very soft-spoken but that makes you be quiet and listen to her. She is one great lecturer. Literally, she gets up and somehow managaes to clearly tell us all the information. I highly respect her. She is an awesome professor and I would definitely recommend people to take social science with her. She is also very fair

Professor Grasso had to be the best teacher I had in my 2 years at CGS. She's informative, very willing to answer questions, and extremely knowledgable in her field. The only reason why anyone would do poorly in her class is if they're lazy about doing the reading assignments.
