Professor Kelly is one of the best. As one of his students, he truly inspired my love and passion for anthro. Very funny and nice. Attendance is optional, but make sure you come to class anyway so you don't miss any pop quizzes, surprise extra cred, and crucial info for the exam that you'd only learn from the lectures... and his amazing shirts.

Dr. Kelly is a great lecturer and really keeps the class engaged. A lot of the class work occurs in the weekly labs taught by the TAs. There are 3 tests, 3 projects, 3 pop quizzes, around 15ish labs. All assignments are graded pretty fairly. It's a lot of work but you can definitely do well. Great shirts.

Dr. Kelly and all of the TAs are amazing. I probably wont be taking another anthropology course because its not my major (I needed a lab science credit), but please beware. If anthropology isnt your major, you might be taken aback. Its a lot for an intro course, its lecture heavy and contains a LOT. You really gotta work for that A.

Pop quizzes suck- all short answer. Attendance NOT mandatory but you miss tons of info. Gives outlines of the powerpoints, most people play on their computers during class. He is an interesting professor and tries to get everyone involved with the lecture with asking questions and personal experiences. When he isn't there the TAs will lecture.

Dr. Kelly is the best! Its a really interesting topic and he makes it easy enough for us to understand. GO TO CLASS! Theres no way to know what he really wants on tests/quizzes unless you hear what he emphasizes. It is a heavy load but he gives A LOT of bonus and extra credit. There are also readings on blackboard that ARE tested on and can help.

Really funny guy. Classes aren't mandatory, but he gives three pop quizzes (usually the week before the exam) and will give extra credit when people don't show up. No textbooks, but a lot of reading that are semi-helpful. At least one short answer question will be about them on a exam/quiz. Labs are worth a lot in the long run, so go to them.

This class requires a LOT of effort to be put in. Tests are hard but if you pay attention to the quizzes, they are really similar. Labs are a little long but they really help you understand the information and they're interesting. Final project which takes a lot of time but not too hard. Don't take if you already have a strong course load!

Prof. Kelly is literally amazing. His lectures are great. He is enthusiastic, funny, and very knowledgeable about what he is teaching. The information is also kind of interesting. The only homework assigns is readings online. The work is not hard, labs are straight forward and he has helpful outlines of the notes on blackboard.

Dr. Kelly is a funny guy & his lectures were interesting. It's a little difficult to study for tests because there is so much material, but the pop quizzes are decent indication. Good amount of extra credit opportunity. I would suggest this class to a non-science major in need of a lab - it was actually really interesting and I learned a lot!

Dr. Kelly is a fantastic lecturer... if you are interested in ANTH or evolution you'll probably like his class (but) I found it to be 3 times more work than a normal 100 level class, 3 tests, HARD pop quizzes, projects, labs... Participation is key but if you go lecture/lab you'll make an A.

Dr. Kelly is awesome! I loved his lectures, and if you print out his lectures before his class and just write in little comments, the tests are super easy. Just make sure to keep up with the material! I suggest flashcards! The labs are a little tedious but they help with understanding the material better.

HIs lectures are interesting, make sure you show up (sometimes he gives extra credit just for showing up). Tests are reasonable. Projects aren't hard and help your grade. No textbook, just articles posted on blackboard. Also gives the opportunity for EC at the end of the semester. I really enjoyed this course - take Dr. Kelly!

Be on good terms with your lab TA, because that's who you will be interacting with the most often and who will be grading your work. Notes are on blackboard.

I personally love Professor Kelly. He helped me out immensely in his class and was always open to help students and answer questions. If it wasn't for him, I don't know if I would have passed the class. He makes you work for your grade, but isn't that what a good teacher is suppose to do? Great teacher.

This class is very hard if you're looking for an easy science. I took it for honors, and wouldn't recommend it. There are 3 pop quizzes, 3 projects, & 3 tests. The labs take some time too, especially if you're in honors. I do more work for this class than my others. Don't take if you don't have to, but you can still get an A or B if you work hard.

I loved this class and thought it was really interesting BUT it is challenging. Dr. Kelly was really fun and passionate and I really enjoyed having him as a teacher but there are easier gen. ed. lab sciences if that it what you are looking for. He doesn't take attendance but there are 3 random quizzes throughout the semester.

Dr. Kelly is really nice but he's so boring, you don't learn much from lecture, the labs are really tedious but thats where you learn everything. The TA's are awesome. The class isn't hard but you really have to do all the work, and theres alot of it. If you have to take a lab science, its not too bad

Dr. Kelly is awesome! He gives great lectures, never boring, however it is a lot of work and might be hard for some students. 3 projects, 3 big quizzes that are each 3 pages of short answer (1 dropped), 3 tests. Lab is very easy though. Lectures aren't mandatory but they're helpful. If you're interested in anthropology, TAKE HIM!
