Lisa Williams is a gem of a human being. She is an amazing poet and gives really good feedback regarding your own pieces. As long as you actually put effort and time into your poetry, she will really work with you in order to make the piece the best it can be. Extremely fair grader and kind person. Highly recommend for any poetry course.

BE AWARE OF THIS TEACHER!! Please please be aware of this class! This is a super fun course but she DOES NOT GRADE FAIRLY! I would see her more than once a week during her office hours, always participated in class and attended everything required outside of class. Went above and beyond other students who made the same or better grade than me.

Got me to like poetry & abstract art! Wonderful teacher, with great imagination and wide variety of interests which lets her spice up a potentially boring class. You will work but the assignments are fun and she's happy to help with questions.

I loved this professor! she doesn't emphasize poetry which is good for non-poets. Papers are graded hard but she gives points for creativity. Really knows the lit & art. you'll work in her class but not lose your mind.

One of the best professors I had during my 4 years at Centre. Lisa gave me an appreciation for poetry when at first I had none. She knows her sh*t and she's cool as sh*t. Truly cares ab her students--gives personal attention and constructive criticism. Those who don't like her just hold a grudge about having piss poor work graded as such.

She was more assertive this semester than I've ever seen her. She was able to have fun and joke with us, but I do think she had really helpful comments for our poetry and wasn't afraid to tell us when something wasn't working. She's really fallen into the role of "professor" so I think she's been great every time I've had her in class.

Intro and intermediate poetry courses. Extremely easy, spacey, and bored. Just make up a catchy poem and get an A. Just get on her good side, and it's smooth sailing. More poet than professor.

The woman does not know what she is doing!!!! She would be better fitted to be a poetry resource person for a middle school!! She had no command of subject, knows little if anything other than poetry, and even with poetry she does a bad job teaching it
