Comment:

Excellent math teacher. Professor Escobar will help you get caught up to where you need to be in such a short amount of time. He's always willing to help and will help as long as you let him know you need help. He gives quizzes and will add those extra points to your average grade. He also has you keep a binder in order for extra credit.

Comment:

Escobar is a pretty dope professor, he explains things well enough in class and is willing to explain things in depth if you ask. The take-home problems he assigns are brutal but certainly doable. Differential Equations seems very intimidating but in reality as long as your foundation in Calculus I & II is solid, you will be fine

Professor Escobar was a very nice man who is very smart. BUT he is not a great teacher. This is the first math class i had to legit write paragraphs (notes) for and it did not even help me. Also Professor Escobar did a lot of examples BUT nothing that would be on the test. Tests are hard and hes a specific/hard grader. GPA will go down.

If I were you, I would steer away from any class with him. I have taken many online classes before but this is easily the worst one I've taken. The information in the syllabus is contradictory, he takes a long time to respond to emails, grades slowly and assigns a ridiculous amount of homework that will take up most of your time for the semester

Comment:

This course can be very stressful if you have other classes that you are taking. The pacing is super fast 2-4 homeworks, 1-2 quizzes over 2 sections at a time per week. During exams you will feel the pressure (time wise). GPA will go down for sure. Also have to be very careful with mistakes. Would not recommend for flex class.

Do NOT be late completing assignments. He takes off a big chunk of your grade, but at least you can still turn it in. If your late completing an assignment he locks future assignments until you email him, then he will unlock them.

Mr. Escobar's class was a bit tougher than some other math classes I've taken, but if you put the effort in to learn the material you will do well. Homework is optional. 4 exams and 8 quizzes, that's it. He makes himself available, so if you are ever struggling, tell him and he will gladly help you out. I'll be taking the next math course with him.

Great professor. Really goes into depth, I just feel like he moved a little too slow for me, but a lot of my classmate liked that about him. He gives you suggested homework that he doesn't collect, and take him quizzes. The exams are pretty easy.

I have always been great at algebra so this class was just review for me, however I did see others around me who were struggling to learn the material. He often got confused when teaching which confused the class. Other than that the class was easy.

Took the class as part of the Math Intensive Program so slacking off is not an option to pass the class. Escobar's lectures were clear although there is a discrepancy between the difficulty of the questions within the lecture and the exam itself. Be prepared to practice a lot outside of class.

Professor Escobar is amazing, he takes the time to explain how to solve problems and will give plenty of examples as well. If you're still having trouble he will help you one on one. Math is easy for me when I have a great instructor showing me the way!!

He's a great professor, and makes math easy to understand. He takes the time to give plenty of examples, and is patient if you're still having a hard time. He was awesome!!! If math is difficult for you then I wouldn't miss a class, it's easy to get behind. Best Math instructor ever!

Comment:

Most of the time during class is spent going over examples on the board. He doesn't assign any homework assignments so you really need to invest time outside of class studying or you wont pass any of his tests. Overall, the subject is very difficult, but if you take good notes and follow the way he teaches, you'll do fine.

Do not take this class! He expects you to know everything already! He doesn't explain the answers or the problem. Writes on board and you copy. 6 quizzes. No extra credit! Thick accent. Not helpful. Shows you his way and no other way so it's even harder!

3 exams, 1st one is easy, 2nd one is harder, 3rd one is insane but its take home. 6-8 quizzes, do yourself a favor and go to the math lab for help on all of them. 1 final exam. There is no curve so watch out. He gets pretty crazy when it comes to the algebra on his problems. If you want to challenge yourself take this course, GPA will go down.

Be careful taking any higher math course with this guy. He makes the course harder than it needs to be. He also doesn't curve grades even though half the class average is a failing grade. Would not recommend to anyone. Take someone else.

Teaches class well when he works problems on the board, and he usually shows you every type of problem (albeit simple ones in comparison with the tests). The quizzes are tough sometimes but they are take home, the exams are very tough you will need to study a lot to pass this class. only real complaint hes hard to reach through email. p.s: Algebra
