Marcia is a sweet lady that I believe is retiring soon. The class is pretty easy, but if you have issues, talk to her! She is super helpful and you will see a change in your grades. I found the discussions pretty boring, but she is prepared, and it is what it is. Its an easy class that's pretty mandatory

Comment:

Wonderful professor. Knew what she was doing, was always well prepared, excellent at explaining things, relatively little work. Really really enjoyed coming to class. She changed a lot of my opinions. Highly recommended. Got much more out of this class than i thought i would and i learned a hell of a lot. Wish there were more like her.

I had Marcia for small group discussion. Lots of different activities and movies. Fun to go to and if your class participates the two hours fly by. You have to write a journal every week, but it doesn't have to be long. Very flexible and lenient grader. Highly recommend!

Comment:

She doesn't have what it takes to teach a humanities course. She let's the students walk all over her/is too understanding and kind; sometimes you have to be harsh! She is skilled at teaching about domestic abuse, not skilled at convincing stubborn students that sexism exists. No exams, only projects.

She's a great teacher. She can get very bias at times but tries to look at everything from many points of views. Don't get her started on sexism, you won't win the argument! :-) I would highly recommend her. She is such a sweet and generous professor!

Marcia is great. Really likes teaching and is very helpful. She lets you turn in the final paper a week early so she can revise it and make suggestions for you. Only problem I had with her was how liberal she was, but then again the class in general is very liberal, so maybe it was just the class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Nice lady, and a pretty good teacher too (very helpful). As a guy in her women's studies class, I felt kind of obligated to be a bit on the quiet side, but I never felt very uncomfortable in the class. It was a good experience, and I did learn a few things from it.

Very helpful outside of class! Grades tests harder than other EFN teachers. Gives you the option of turning in paper early so you can get a good grade. In discussion group, she treats students like children which can become very annoying
