One of the best professors I've had. She really does care about her students and wants everyone to pass. She makes class fun with her energetic and bubbly personality. When I went to see her in her office, she took some time to ask questions about myself and even told me to stop by whenever so she can help me with my post-grad plans.

A true gem. UCR is lucky to have Mari-Carmen. So energetic every day. It is so clear she loves her job. GREAT at what she does. Very concerned with the progress of students and does not give busy work - everything she gives is valuable. Will help with whatever in her office hours with a smile! Cares a lot about students. Truly excellent!

Ms. Ballester is absolutely one of my most favorite teachers. I am so sad that she is only able to teach twice a year, but if you get the chance to take her, do it! You won't regret it. She makes learning fun and she is enthusiastic about teaching. She believes in her students and wants them to do the best that they can. She is always helpful!

One of the very few best professors I've ever had in my entire life. She really cares about every single student. She is always so jolly. She really loves to teach and you can see it from day one. I wish I could have her for all my spanish classes. You are lucky if you get her as a professor. All the spanish classes are the same work load.

I've NEVER had a GREATER TEACHER THAN Professor Ballester... I feel like crying while writing this review because she offered to stay after class just to help me improve my grade... No teacher has ever been more genuine than Professor Ballester... I almost stopped believing that some teachers actually loved there job... then I met her... :,)

Mari is a teacher that just exists. Whenever I had a problem or went into her office hours she would just smile and nod and not help me. Whenever I had a problem with the material or even when I discovered I was graded in error and earned those points she never corrected her mistakes so I missed out on points. She just trots along doing nothing.

Mari-Carmen is one of the best Spanish teachers you'll take at UCR. She's very patient, kind and available to students who need help. She goes out of her way to help everyone. You really do learn in this class. I can only hope I can have her once again as a teacher for the other Spanish classes I will take!

Funny and super nice! Recommend her to anyone taking Spanish. She is extremely helpful. Every single day she makes you talk, write and memorize Spanish, which actually helps you retain the info better. I never studied for any of the quizzes or tests and got a B+.

She was EXTREMELY helpful before class, after class, and willing to meet up with students who needed extra help. Always puts up the grades right away, very diligent. There are no surprises on her tests, she goes over EVERYTHING. AWESOME TEACHER!!!!!!!!!

Very, very great teacher. She really cared about her students and worked very hard to get her students to fully comprehend the material. The notebook for the class is basically the same as the quizzes and midterms. I got an A both times so if you can, definately take her.
