For CIS Painting, you must directly engage M.B. and ask questions or indicate what you want to learn in class. Ppl vary in the skills they bring to class and direction they take their work. He was the worst teacher I've had in my life. Gives an assignment and leaves to do his own thing for an hour. Promises that he'll give feedback, then NEVER does. Gives low grades without providing any reasoning behind them. Never there when you need help. I think I'm a worse artist for taking his class. NEVER take a class with this guy.

Run. Run away. find a teacher that doesn't make you draw the same two ceramic pots every day. Homework easy, but also piles up FAST. Really, I'm serious, the work that is being produced in other Drawing 1 classes is above and beyond Binion's. Take one of them instead.

McArthur is the best! He really wants you to succeed. At first he seems tough, but don't be scared, if you ask for help he will do anything for you. He's my advisor now I loved his class so much.

He's a nice guy, but I didn't like his teaching style. We drew the same vases in the same position for the majority of the time. We never did any critiques, but he did always have something positive to say about everyone's work. The final project was fun, because we could do anything we wanted and it didn't have to be a drawing.

He is very inspiring, and down to earth. Sometimes he can be a little out there and some students may be confused by his liberal teaching style, but I found it refreshing to be encouraged to think outside the box for once.
