He is the best! He's super sweet and knowledgeable and just overall awesome. I had so much fun in his class. He has a British accent which is always a plus. I highly recommend taking the class if you need to take chemistry!

He's a nice guy, but you'll need to sit in the first couple of rows to hear anything he says. Willing to answer any questions. He often assumes you've already been exposed to the material that he's "lecturing" about, so sometimes he doesn't explain it very well/completely. He pretty much just reads off of the PowerPoint slides.

Johnson is a really nice guy and seems willing to help his students, but he isn't very good at explaining concepts. His lectures were kind of confusing and he talks softly. Definitely sit in the front of the class. Not a great professor, but not bad. Chem is hard no matter who your professor is, so you will need to find outside help anyway.

Mr. Johnson has an English accent and a very soft voice, thus it was exceedingly difficult for me to understand him most of the time. Though it's a giant lecture class, he'll respond to you individually if you ask him questions. Great teacher but seriously, you have to listen hard to hear him.

How well you do in chemistry depends more on you than the teacher; however, Johnson is one of the best professors. I rarely went to class, crammed the day before and had around a 91 test average. I know people who go every class, study for days and have a C. It just depends on if you can grasp chem concepts. His reviews are helpful for the tests.

He is a great teacher, pretty easy to understand. But I didn't really pay enough attention in class, so Study Edge definitely helped me do better in the class. They have lots of extra practice problems for exams!

I took Sumner in the fall and had to drop it because i wasn't really prepared for a college chemistry course, it wasn't Sumner's fault, but after taking Johnson in the Spring, i must say he is a blessing! GREAT chem professor!!! Ive done better on all three exams this semester, he teaches chemistry really well... he's best out of the bunch

Professor Johnson tries the best he can. Test, hw, and even slide presentations are all departmental. Not much he can do about it. he tries to make the class interesting though. He's the best gen chem professor there is at UGA. You need to get extra help OUTSIDE of class to have any hope of passing!

Chemistry is hard. Take Johnson. He is very friendly & always open to answering questions. He does a great job of preparing you for the 2 hour final exam (standardized). Plus he does fun/interesting experiments in class. Attendance is not mandatory. Tests and homework are on JExam. Do the homework! I would take him again for 1212.

Professor Johnson is great chemistry teacher. In the beginning of the semester, I was terrified about how tough the course would be, but Dr. Johnson explains concepts very well and even does experiments to help students conceptualize the material better. Needless to say, chemistry is still difficult, I made an A (4.0) TAKE HIM!!

If Sean Connery majored in Chemistry and was a badass at teaching it, he would be close to Dr. Johnson. Class is pretty basic general chemistry class. If you can't get and A in chem 1211/1212 with Johnson, then go ahead and switch majors b/c organic will kick your ass!

He was a great teacher to me. He tried a lot harder than any of my other chem teachers to make things fun in class. If you have to take this class this is who you should take it with. Learn the material - spend like 30min each day reviewing, go to class and you will do great!!!

Enthusiastic and definitely a good teacher. Sometimes brushes over the basics while focusing too much on whatever's next. He tries hard to make the class interesting and will go above and beyond if you ask for help. Just a warning: the final exam is horrible.. think 85 degrees in a jam-packed lecture hall with barely enough space to write..

He reminds me of Sean Connery. Just read the book, go to class, memorize trivial information, you should get an A.

Dr. Johnson makes Chemistry as easy as it is ever going to get. His study sessions really help. His accent is not a hindrance to understanding the concepts.
