Prof. Sultan definitely knows what shes talking about and is well educated. Shes a cool lady but for a class that many take as a Gen. Education, its very reading heavy. It is nice that she gives points for participating and completing study guides.

Dr. Sultan is totally amazing. I look forward to class every day. Yes, she is hard and has very high expectations, but if you go see her she is very helpful and kind. She seems tough in class. This is not your ordinary mythology class. Take it!

Dr. Sultan is very passionate and opinionated. About 12 books are required for the class and you will most likely read all of them by the end of the semester. If you make an effort to participate and to get to know her you will do well in her class. She offers good feedback on essays but is a very tough grader.

I came into this class interested, but that didn't last long. The material we covered was interesting, but the writing assignments were not. I was there to learn but I don't like the overall atmosphere of her class. I don't like being talked down to when I'm sharing my ideas. Don't take her classes!!!

Dr. Sultan is funny and smart. She pushed us all out of our comfort zones in Greek and Roman comedy, but I always felt respected in discussion and hey--I'm pretty shy and I even put on a phallus and danced around on stage with it. So I'd say that she got me to do something I never thought I'd do, I learned, and I had more fun than I've ever had.

I would not recommend this professor to other students. It is very apparent that she knows what she is talking about and is interested in the topics she teaches, however her relationship with students does not feel personal. I did not appreciate her attitude outside of class at times.I would advise others to not register for her classes.

Dr. Sultan is a very good teacher for the material, however, if you don't have at least a mild interest in mythology, ancient cultures, or whatever the class is about then you will not enjoy the experience. She requires a lot of work, but if you are willing to put in time you will learn a lot about the material.

While Professor Sultan clearly has a great knowledge base, her class structure makes it incredibly difficult to learn the information. There is way too much put into small group discussion and students have to teach more than half the classes completely. It just doesn't work.

Dr. Sultan is the only professor I've had in three years at IWU who actually read and corrected my papers. She is clear about what she wants, and will reward those who give it to her. Go visit her during office hours and have her explain her expectations. You'll be glad you did.

Professor Sultan is one of the hardest graders at this school! However, she is a good teacher. She has crazy high expectations and hardly EVER gives out an A. All her tests are essays and is a crazy grader when it comes to them. Watch out, this class has tons of reading and is a ton of work.
