I had no interest in the 60's prior to taking the class. After the class, I felt like I had an educated awareness on the topic. Dr. Hamilton was patient, funny, brilliant and showed obvious passion for the subject that he taught. If I could take his classes for the remainder of my college career, I would. Grade A teacher.

Prof Hamilton was the bomb. He's funny and helpful, although he can be challenging at times. Go to class, do what's assigned, and you should be fine.

It's a TOUGH class. You have to know your stuff. All he really wants to hear on his tests are HIS opinions.

He is the coolest teacher that walks on SHC's campus. He's also probably the smartest teacher in the history department, but possibly the hardest. You must take good notes in his class and I've found recording his class helps too. He keeps class interesting and expects answers on test to be descriptive. TAKE HIS CLASS BEFORE LEAVING SHC

I loved the class and loved learning about U.S. History and loved how Hamilton was so excited about the subject, but when his tests became all essay and he's extremely critical about the answers is when I dropped. About half of the two classes combined had to drop this class because they were failing. I didn't want to drop the class, but had to.

My favorite class I think I have ever taken! The first part of the class is kinda lame but once you start getting into 60s and 70s culture the class rocks! The essays are kinda hard but the quizes are really easy so if you do well on them you can spare a few points on the essay section of the exam! def better then western civ!

This is not an easy class, but it's totally worth it. The exams are 60% essay, and he grades them like an English professor so make sure you know how to write. The multiple choice are super easy, though, and he's a blast in class. I think that secretly he's a body builder!
