Absolutely worst professor I have ever had by far. Relies heavily on documentaries and other video sources to "teach", or simply uses irrelevant and dated information by reading off a sheet. Not at all engaging. Pop-quizzes are difficult also. Did not learn a single thing from her as a teacher, would stay clear.

Prof. Molloy is a totally unfit university lecturer. Stay far, far away. Trust me. You have been warned.

Dr. Molloy gets some undeserved hate, I personally found her to be one of the best profs I have encountered in university. She's passionate about what she teaches, and she's quite the character. She doesn't let you use your laptop, but a lot of her lectures are spent watching videos so it doesn't get too dry. Interesting course content.

High expectations and makes the class pretty damn hard.. have to do the readings, have to attend class, and writing has to be very precise. It is a good class, interesting, and you will learn a lot but don't sign up for it if you are looking for an easy way to pad your GPA!!!

The class had potential to be interesting but her lectures made no sense because she would just go on rants about random unrelated content. Three hours in her class was absolutely brutal and all I could think about was when it would be over. She also flat out told the class that no one can ever get perfect marks on anything, handed out 80s max

Students were continuously confused and taking notes in her class are brutal. She is very unclear and doesn't strive for high success in her class. She relied on sloppy done power points. Her skills in teaching are very poor. I would not recommend taking this course if she is teaching it.

Would not recommend. Does not allow laptops to take notes. No form of slide show used, she just talks quickly you're expected to get everything down that she verbally says by hand, resulting in very poor notes. The majority of class isn't a lecture though, she uses documentaries instead of teaching and made the final is based off of them.

She loved to talk about herself - she would go on rants and drift away from course content. She was a great influence in getting me to work harder - her marks were tough but she cared and wanted you to do well. Definitely changed my attitude to get better marks in her class and it worked. Group project at end of year on ad campaign

I didn't know much public communication before I took this course. Considering my options, I made the best choice with this professor and this course. A cut above for sure. Highly recommended. She organizes classes well and prepares students like me for other courses. I couldn't have asked for more except a little bit more leeway on writing errors.

She has strong opinions, which we all do when you think about it for a bit, but she is willing to teach people like me how to think not what to think. I recommend this class based on her ability to get others to examine their own belief systems.

At fist I really enjoyed Molloy and found her funny, but as the semester progressed the presentation/movie layout of the 3 hour night class got a little boring. I also realized she is great until you disagree with her. No one else's opinion is correct except for hers, she often made students feel dumb/ centred out if she did not agree w the student

Took Critical Advertising studies a little while ago, 3 years, maybe? Seemed about right. I work in advertising today, and WOW was she wildly off-target. 1. OGILVY & BERNBACH should be required. 2. We aren't all evil trying to create eating disorders. 3. There are better ads than the coke commercial. 4. Social advertising. Look that up.

I have had Dr. Molloy throughout my entire university career. With each year accomplished, she expects a lot from her students. Long, lengthy articles, no laptops, and no powerpoints, but a movie every class, is Molloy's teaching, so if this does no intrigue you do not take her classes.

Dr Molloy's classes are filled with extremely interesting content, and while the readings are long, they are engaging. She is generally really passionate about what she's teaching, and allows for a lot of in class discussion which makes long lectures feel a lot shorter. Overall, great prof and generally easy marker.

Patricia Molloy is very interesting. She has great content in her class although her lectures are a little fast paced, as she reads them off a paper and there are no slides. That being said the assigned readings are decently interesting and you watch a lot of cool documentaries. Love her sarcastic humour.

This is a really interesting course and dr. Molloy goes into really good depth about the concepts covered. However, to benefit from this course you HAVE to go to class and you HAVE to do the readings. You have to work for your grade. I'd say this course is a real university course, and despite it being difficult, you will benefit a lot.

I first took 206 with Dr. Molloy and I absolutely loved it. We had discussions every week and I learned a lot from class and the readings. Then I took 322 with her and I could tell right away she didn't care about this course as much as she had with 206. I didn't learn anything and barely went to class because I wasn't interested at all.

Overly opinionated and does not let students formulate their own opinions on things. The amount of required reading for her class is insane. Do not recommend her as a prof.

Honestly doesn't teach at all. very biased, I personally loved the topic but the class is uninspiring. Students cannot come up with anything more than what I have learned in 2nd year already in the presentations. They should just turn this class into online one, she teaches less than an online prof.

If you don't do the readings, you become utterly bored and uninspired. Do the readings and you will ace the course â€" not to mention learn some pretty incredible things… The readings she picks are not fluff/filler â€" they are strategic and worth your time. I hated this teacher for the longest time and have since realized she has taught me everything.
