I dropped this class. On the first day of classes, he told us that when we're teaching children, we can be average teachers or exceptional teachers. When nobody in the class had an answer for one of his questions, he said "Oh, well if you all just want to be average, that's fine. Lets move on." and didn't even give us the answer. Hello TEACHER?

Dr. Hartung is a decent professor, but he was all over the place with notes. He would teach us something, then go over homework, then talk about the test, then go back to homework, then teach us something. My notes were always confusing and that's why I think i didn't do well on tests. He offers grades to you at the end, so thats cool.

He is older so he wants things done his way with no exceptions but he is very clear on what he wants. The worksheets he assigns for homework is how the quizzes are and he tells you what to expect on each quiz but he only announces when the tests are and the first and last quiz is so always be prepared for a quiz.

Dr Hartung is a sweetheart. All of the quizzes/tests look like the worksheets done in class. He is busy a lot so if you need help, get a tutor. You are also allowed to use a notecard for every quiz and test. The class isn't very challenging if you pay attention!

He told us on the first day that half of us would fail. Horrible "teacher" I answered a question wrong in class and he LAUGHED in my face. Moves WAY too fast and is not willing to help you whatsoever. I had a 3.9GPA until i took this class. I am getting my first ever C. I study for hours and still fail his tests. Tried to give him all 0's.

This was a class that was very challenging at times, but if you meet all the criteria in the beginning the rest is easy. -Pass the gateway right away!!!!! & do well on test one, and you should pass the class with a very high grade. Do not wait to practice for the gateway or you will end up in the class again, like everyone else.

If you aren't very good at math, like me, then this class is going to be difficult for you. I had to study for hours at a time just to pass with a C. He moves ENTIRELY too fast, to the point where catching up is almost impossible. Just study super hard, go online, study with a partner. 8 quizzes, do well on 5. 2 tests...

Make sure you do well on all of the quizzes and do not skip class!! If you can get a certain grade on assignments during the semester you can get an A without taking the final so make sure you don't slack off! This class is very easy if you take notes and do the worksheets he gives you each class. He's hilarious and my favorite professor ever.

Overall, the class isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. He does go rather fast but the material isn't too bad. He does give you lots of worksheets as practice, they are not mandatory but do them, it helps! Also, the best part he practically gives you exactly what will be on the test. You just have to be willing to work to understand.

He's not the best professor I've had.. However, he's not all bad. Come to class, take the quizzes. I made the mistake of not studying at first few quizzes, did bad on them. Studied for about an hour per quiz after that, ended up getting 8/10 or 10/10. He's not very helpful, but the class isn't terribly difficult. Just study and ask friends for help

I LOVE DR. HARTUNG! many people did not like him because he does go fast but i thought he was an excellent teacher. He was clear with what he says and goes over it many times before you have a quiz. He specifics exactly what will be on the quiz and test. i recommend taking him!

He's awful. Don't ever take him, if you can help it. He's not very helpful or very specific, and likes things to be done his way only- which is annoying. Especially at 8 in the morning. It will definitely be a rough start to your day.

Luckily I was good at math coming into this course so it came easy to me and I did very well. However, if math is not your best subject you most likely will really struggle with Hartung. He is not a good teacher at all, you really have to self teach yourself a lot.

I had Dr. Hartung this semester for Intro to Computer Science. Our class was basically all speech path majors. I'm used to studying hard and putting as much effort as needed into my classes, but this class was ridiculous. If you ask him a question, he tells you to Google it. Go to class everyday and pay attention. The midterm sucks.
