He's a cute old guy I really like him. Really know a ton about astronomy you can tell he is very passionate. If your'e in AST102 BRING A COAT!!! its called observational astronomy for a reason! you go to the Jackson co airport and observe planets and star clusters, really cool but cold and the timing is not the best

Paul is very passionate about what he teaches and it shows through his enthusiastic lectures. He does a lot of awesome goofy experiments and if you just pay attention to his lecture and take notes on them, that is what you will expect on the test. Never once cracked open the text book and got an A in this class just watched lectures & took notes.

Heckert did everything he could to help students pass his class if that was their goal. There was a little bit of reading, but it wasn't anything extremely complicated. There was a little math and he did introduce basic physics principles, but again, it wasn't complicated and he explains everything you need to know in a very concise manner.

Class is NOT easy if you don't have enough trig experience...but HE IS AMAZING teacher. He uses props and gets you to pay attention to him. He's more than willing to spend extra time helping you if you need it. JUST A WONDERFUL MAN...you can tell he wants to be there, not just there for a paycheck. He's FANTASTIC!!!!

Physics is hard but he has the class set so that if you try you can get a pretty good grade. Go to class and especially pay attention to the examples. Also, the math isn't that hard but you should be decent enough with algebra.

Nice guy. Funny and sarcastic. Show up and do the work. Willing to work with us if there was bad weather. Very knowledgeable. Open to questions and opens more when he sees you have an interest in the subject. Sometimes rushes observations. Overall, I reccomend taking him.

Great class with a great teacher. You go out and look at the stars and draw what you see. Lots of fun. Just make sure you dress appropriately on cold nights. The temp at the airport can get to like 10 degrees F with wind chill on some nights.

Nice guy; class is tough I got a C on every test. But I did the extra credit and all the daily assignments and pulled a high A in the class. DO NOT miss class, one you will get lost and two the daily grades will help you a lot that is the only reason I recived an A

i loved this class, it was hard and i actually had to study, but that was ok. a study group helps and he is always willing to help. he is a good sport and i gave him a hard time being a smart mouth the entire time, i loved it cause he would just stop in his tracks...they're not earth quakes if they're on mars!!
