Comment:

Knoper is one of the best professors I've had at the University. Like the other reviews said, he can be a bit scattered at times, but he truly cares about both the material, and helping the students do as well as they can. He rambles at times, but he is very intelligent, and if you put in the work, you'll do fine in his class. Very nice guy.

Comment:

Kind of like being taught by Kramer. Don't recommend Prof. Knoper. Can be very confusing, also provides a selection of quite possibly the most boring literature America has ever produced. Also his grading is incredibly deconstructive - English majors know the type.

Professor Knoper is easily the worst professor that I have had in the time at UMass. He is incredibly boring, his grading is highly subjective and nepotistic, and the content of the course was repetitive and nothing as the course description leads you to believe it will be about. If you are considering this course, I urge you to look somewhere else

Would be great if he had the very necessary ability to convey to his students what he wants from them. What he expects from his students, especially for assignments, is vague and unclear, even after questions are asked and supposedly answered. Often, I sat in class and tried to understand him, but ultimately had no idea what he was trying to say.

I loved 200H. Randall was the first professor I met, and he's easily one of my favorites. He is interested in the material he teaches, and tries to get discussion going. He honestly cares about his students, and he'll bend over backwards to accomodate anyone. He's a brilliant man, too - Id recommend that you take any of his classes :)

Possibly the worst class ever - class discussion was non-existant altho Knoper tried really hard to get it going. Most readings were dull. He is also a harsh grader tho he types up a page of detailed helpful comments about the paper...

Randall is kind of weird, but if you talk to him in office hours you find he's really nice. He tried really hard to get class discussion going, but the material just wasn't interesting. In another course I bet he would be great. Overall, I think his teaching is good but not course content.
