Comment:
The professor is a really smart guy, but has a hard time teaching at the undergraduate level. He's unorganized, doesn't go over his assigned homework (so if you don't understand it the first time you're screwed), and skips over the basics b/c he's such a brilliant researcher. I would recommend not taking an undergrad class from him.

Ellis is a good prof, his interest in health econ is obvious. Lectures don't always help with studying, but if you study from the homework you'll be ok. Not an overly hard class, but you do have to work for the grade.

Ellis is a good guy but has a difficult time "teaching" his students because he knows the material so well. Tests are challenging. He makes you work for your grade but overall it's a good class. Take it.

An ok class. Problem sets due every week which are time consuming until you get the hang of them. TA's in this class are horrible and do not speak english. Overall the class was fairly easy and I learned a lot.

For teaching a large intro class, his lecture was very well done. He is usually available and is polite to students as well.

Not a particular good professor, but the man was ok. He spoke directly from the power point presentation, so the lecture was dull. But if you study the lecture slides, you will ace the class. Sometimes he messed up people's grade on midterm. You really

Intor Health course focuses only on points he is researching (mostly compensation models for insurance). Make sure you know the things he discovered. Overall a great guy and a great teacher
