Randy is hands-down the best professor I have ever had at Augustana. Many people will tell you the horror stories about ED-300, but if you dedicate your time and all your effort to the class. YOU. WILL. SURVIVE. You will struggle, but just know Randy wants you to succeed and is there to help you.

Randy is nice and all, but his class is so much harder than it needs to be. You can walk into his tests after studying for a week straight and still fail they are that hard. He is a tough grader, he never gives a lot of feedback which can leave you more confused. He does have office hours, but I often leave more confused than when I went in.

Randy is very helpful, especially if you are having a hard time in the class! He is confident that his students can pass, so he is there to encourage them to do so! He is open for meeting with his students outside of class, and is willing to be intentional with his time with his students! However, his projects and such can be confusing!

Randy is not scary. He loves his job and if you are passionate about becoming a teacher you will too. Super important to enter ED300 with a very open and relaxed mind set. You can do it!

Such an interesting class. It is very intense and there are a lot of expectations for you as a student. However, if you go in with a calm mindset, you will LOVE this class. I enjoy going everyday and always learn something new.

Randy's the most intelligent and interesting professor I've had. His class was challenging because he expects a lot from his students. He taught us to think in a completely different way. It was difficult, but I now really appreciate the skills I gained from his teaching style. Study a lot and be prepared for open discussions.

Although Randy's class is pretty intense, he wants you to suceed. If you are struggling, he will do everything in his power to help you. He also has a great sense of humor and rarely lectures. One of my favorite teachers ever. I would take his class over in a heartbeat. (Also, his tests are extremely difficult.)

He certainly is not an easy professor, but he really knows what he's talking about. I think I will truly benefit in the long run from having a professor like Randy. Sure, it can be frustrating, but I truly think I will then learn the most from him.

The only teacher I have ever encountered that is straight-forward with his students. It was not during his class, where I realized the degree to which he cares about his students, it was during a friendly conversation last year. He truly cares about your progress and your success as a teacher.

At first I really wasn't very fond of Randy but the more I have him for classes the more I realize that hes an amazing teacher that really knows what hes doing. He really tries to make every student he has the best possible teacher...Randy you're the best the ED deptartment has!!!!!

This professor made me reconsider teaching and almost made me change my passion. Thankfully I was strong enough to get past him and his fake fronts and move on to a better school that will aid me in becoming an outstanding teacher!

Randy, you have been an awesome professor. It took me awhile to get the hang of 300. I have never been asked to think like that. You have really helped me feel confident about getting out there in the classroom and making a difference in students' lives.
