No nonsense, funny, passionate teacher. If you make a decent effort you should do ok. But if you do not, do not expect to do well. This guy does not mail it in. Returns papers and tests very quickly.

Dude gave me a lot to think about at 8 in the morning. I give him a lot of respect for that. The papers take an insane amount of work, and the rest is lectures, tests or discussion sessions. The textbooks don't have that much use, as you can look up the table of contents for the readings discussed in class and look up the short stories on the Web.

Take notes from typed word documents. Info is confusing but he tries to be clear and makes sure you understand. 2 papers (1) 5-7pg (2) reconstruction of 1, 8-10pg. Exams are essay based, midterm and final exam. About each week 30pg reading and prepare 3 essay questions. In class discuss with group questions and write essays together.

He is a very intelligent and interesting guy. His lectures are often early and very long winded but you will pick up a great deal about the subject. His tests are intense and so are the papers. He is a fair grader but tends to be alittle more harsh on papers. He makes a lot of dry jokes that are funny because they are so bad.

Brilliant professor, though definitely a strict grader. Lots of group work, exams are essay form. Lots of note taking, but never any homework. Class can often be long and dragging but if you attend each one and do your reading you should do fine.
