Great dude. Makes class super interesting and funny. He doesn't post lectures so go to class! SO MUCH READING and you won't pass without reading. Test cover 7 chapters at least and each chapter is a million pages long. Also likes to have favorite students. 1 project thats super easy and peer graded.

Took him for Lifespan Development. While he's an interesting guy, it's incredibly lecture-heavy and you need to read the textbook to pass tests (so that's a LOT of reading). I wish this class was split into 2 because there is way too much material to cover in one semester.

Dr. Gilbert is a great professor! he is definitely tough at times but his tests are simply what his pop quizzes are so if you keep those youll be chillin. If you try to participate he will love that. He tries to make his class more like a seminar than a lecture. highly recommend taking his classes, very helpful.

awful teacher. Your grade is a direct reflection of whether he has a liking to you or not, purely judgmental. If you get on his bad side once your grade will suffer whereas if you suck up to him consistently he will give you an A.

I took Dr. Gilbert for Lifespan Development and he is straight up. His lectures are interesting and the class is the most life relevant class I have ever taken. Definitely a great professor and a great class.

I loved this class. It can be tough and you definitely need to study and read the textbook, but it is the most interesting class I've taken at LMU. Dr. Gilbert is entertaining and very smart, so I would really recommend taking his class if you are interested in psychology.

If you're not a psych major, don't expect to do well in his class. I got a C+ in his developmental psych class and sadly I know that I got one of the higher grades in the class. Take lots of notes, show up to class (he gives three pop quizzes), and read everything he assigns because it's all fair game for tests. He grades easy on the paper, though.

Dr. Gilbert is great! He can ramble a bit on his lectures, but the class is really interesting and he's funny. Read the bold and summaries in the book for tests and you should be fine. He's helpful and easy to talk to, so if you have trouble, don't hesitate to ask questions.

Very interesting class and Gilbert knows his stuff. Can ramble a bit when lecturing, but he is very helpful if you have questions. The project is really fun. Reading the book is necessary to do well on midterm/final. Also, he won a Grammy for writing a song for Flashdance!

what a great class. he makes the class interesting and fun. not to mention, he has a great sense of humor. he makes things easier to remember. tests and quizzes aren't that bad as long as you study from the notes and book. if i could, i'd take another class from him.

Billy Crystal's identical twin. phenomenal professor! take good notes in class. many quiz and test questions come straight from the notes. interesting lectures, dry humor, and delivers his lectures with much clarity and ease. tests are tough though. best professor i've ever had

He is funny and entertaining but DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He is a tenure and therefore does whatever he likes, the tests have questions that come out of nowhere. I dropped the class along with 10+ other students. Took it again and got an A.

Gilbert is Hilarious. I actually took his class twice ( i missed like 3 quizzes the 1st time) and still enjoyed myself. His tests are really straight forward-straight from the notes and from the book. If you study you will do fine. My biggest suggestion: dont miss the quizzes. I learned so much in his class that actually applies to life.

Gilbert's class is straightforward, to say the least. He doesn't take attendance, but gets annoyed if you're late. Tests come from the extensive notes & from the chapters, so you MUST read. It's a good class-annoying, but doable. My advice? Form a study group: rotate attendance & split up readings. The notes between the 3 will get you an A

Gilbert's class is great. He's very entertaining and his class is filled with practical advice and aphorisms about life. A lot of independent text-reading that isn't covered in class and a lot of note-taking, but overall it's worth it. I'd definitely recommend his class. HUGE paper though.
