I appreciate Prof. Robert Lurzs passion for philosophy very much. He can explain philosophical theories and concepts clearly. I am so grateful that he can post all PowerPoint slides, give review questions for all unit tests, and let students see the grade and comments on all unit tests on time. Highly recommended for you to take his course.

Prof. Robert Lurz has his great passion for philosophy. He is knowledgeable about the philosophy field. He is the first professor in my life who can let students have the syllabus two weeks before the first class began on this January 2nd. His syllabus is brief and clear. Highly recommended if you want to plan your own study schedule in advance.

Literally everything on his 3/4 written exams is on the slides that he posts AND he gives review sheets. He WANTS you to do well. Just pay attention in class, write some notes(he lectures, barely any discussion) and do the review sheet! He is also super nice & intelligent and will answer any questions or confusion you have over email or in person.

Professor Lurz is the nicest professor! His lectures are intellectual, thought provoking, and fun to listen to. I took during the summer so it may be different but we had six tests all open book for long answers and no final. Such an easy class!

He's so calm and collected. He makes difficult concepts very understandable. He'll repeat the same thing for thirty minutes if people don't understand him. Tests are very straight forward. Not cumulative. 6 unit tests. No papers.

very clear and reasonable. tests are straightforward and not cumulative. material is interesting if you like this kind of thing, and doing the homework and coming to class is enough to do well. I never read when I was supposed to and i'm still doing really well. really really liked this class. definitely recommend.

He's a great professor. Doesn't really encourage discussion instead, he lectures throughout the entire class. It was tough for me but everyone else seemed to do well. Provides all slides and review sheets before each exam. Your grade is largely based on the exams. Not a very FUN class, but if you're interested in PHIL then take him.

Professor Lurz is very nice and not a hard grader. He gives 5 short response hws, midterm and final. He gives extra credit points on tests if you answer questions in class. He basically gives you 100 on the hws as long as you put in effort. Definitely take him again.

Professor Lurz is one of the best teachers I have met. I was not sure to take philosophy class, but I do not regret at all. The way he explains the issues is awesome. It makes you feel involved in the class. He answers most of the inquiries students have and he really is a nice person. Choose Lurz!

If you want discussion do not take this professor. He lectures at you for an hour. He didn't follow the course description at all. He focused on cognition and nothing else. 1 midterm 1 final(40% each- ridiculous)and 4 response papers. Snooze fest.

This professor is the best. He caught my attention every class I attended. I'm not an A student, I would categorize myself as a B or a C+ type of student. I got an A- on the midterm which was EASY!! His exams are extremely easy as long as you listen to the class. He lets you use the book on the midterm and final. Take him you will enjoy it

This guy is pretty good. He doesn't get the class engaged very often but he is open to comments or questions that you may have and usually tries to put time after class to speak with students.

One of the best professors in BC. Exceptional professional and personal qualities. Prof.Lurz makes you love and want to learn more about philosophy. He posesses the talent to explain complicated notions very clearly and vividly and share his fascination about the subject with his students. Wish the summer session wasn't so short. Thanks, Prof.Lurz!
