His exams are difficult even if you study the book. There was a voc matching question where the term wasn't there. Even geo majors had a hard time in the exams. It is a 2k level course, the exams shouldn't be designed for grad students. He is a very nice guy, but the material is boring and he doesn't help it make it more mentally stimulating.

Took him for both GEA and GEO 2000... He was amazing for GEA2000 but he got soooo boring for GEO. His tests for GEA were so clear and easy compared to GEO - there were seniors complaining that they might fail his class because the grade was based off of two tests! If there is another professor teaching GEO, you a better off taking them...

I took this class Fall 2009. Class goes by syllabus, attendance is not mandatory. There are a few films in the movie and discussion sections. If you stick to your notes and scan through the book you should get a B no problem. There were 3 tests and a few quizes in the discussion sections. Downside is 150+ students.

I dont recommend this class, its too hard! Tests were difficult and discussions were alright. Although there is extra credit, even getting full credit is hard. Save your gpa!

I would give Neumann an excellent rating, if it weren't for his tests. He is an excellent teacher. HOWEVER, every test threw me for a loop no matter how hard I tried. Make sure to attend lecture! Trust me! It will save your grade. Almost all the questions on the test come from lecture. Discussion class = useless in comparison to the tests.

BORING!!! Classes are long and his aides are vague in their expectations. Videos are interesting, just the tests are hard and the class is uninteresting. Choose another professor if you can.

His lectures are not easy to get through, he has a very uninteresting way of presenting the material - which might explain why 2/3rds of the class stopped attending after the first few weeks. He goes by the book, so you're able to keep up with what's going on in class but come test time... VERY DIFFICULT. Choose another professor if you can.

Extremely hard. Prof. Neumann is very knowledgeable of the subject but his lectures are extremely boring & your hand will fall off trying to write the notes as he speaks. He jumps from one subject to another. Its annoying. There are 2 pop quizzes, he drops the lowest grade. & a Midterm & a Final. The exams cover a LOT of material so be prepared.

He's not a bad professor. He is very knowledgeable in his field. But its not an easy A. You have to attend class, he shows a lot of videos that he uses in his tests. So definitely go to class. Not as horrible as some people make him seem. He is a bit boring though. So whatever you need to stay awake, use it.

Extremely knowledgable teacher. Go to class and take notes because he expects a lot and his tests are somewhat difficult. Don't let that scare you though, if you like Geography and you are willing to put in a little effort, it's a great and interesting class. There are two pop quizzes but he warns you the week before. Study and you'll learn a lot!

Do NOT take this class. Yes, he is a great professor and knows his stuff, but the tests are really hard and cover alot of information and so are the quizzes. I thought this would be an easy A since it's geography, but that was a hard F! If your looking for an easy class to meet your requirement this is not the one

He is a GREAT professor! He makes it an interesting class, is very structured, disciplined, and knowledgeable. He is very helpful outside of class, and if he sees that you're GENUINELY interested he's great!!! Recommend him 100%! Course material is not difficult and very interesting. Remember that skill and wisdom come from EXPERIENCE! He has lots.

he is overly detailed in his lectures & bombards you with some information you really wouldn't care about unless you were majoring in geography. overall, your grade is based on two exams, for which the review basically says to study EVERYTHING (lectures & book). GO TO THE REVIEWS!!!!! & ASK QUESTIONS! NOT an easy class. pop quizzes (3).

Boring professor for what could be a very interesting subject. The best lectures where the ones he didn't talk but rather put the videos. The exams and quizes aren't hard but aren't easy either.
