Dr. Downhome knows all there is to know about the blues. With first-hand encounters with blues masters, he has innumerable, priceless stories. The curriculum is grueling; however, if you are interested in the blues, there is no one better to learn from than Dr. D!

Had Herr Brown years ago. He was extremely tough, and once told us his job was to "weed out the inferior students." Sad to see students are still struggling with him as a professor. It's important to challenge students, but not totally discourage them from learning. It's hard enough to get Americans to bother to learn another language!

he is strict with grading...but he scales all the tests. in class exercises are also difficult, but this forced me to study really hard, helping me to learn german quickly!!

I recomend this course. Doc Downhome is a blues master, he grew up during its evolution, and he knows it, cold. The class is easy. The tests are hard, and he expects more from you than the average teacher. Its a challenge, sometimes but whats life without some challenges. damn boring if you ask me.

Let's see, does not know how to structure a lecture. Seems to like to make students feel less intelligent, perhaps to make him feel superior in his dictatorship, oops i mean classes. if you're smart, don't take him. find other classes without him to take.

Roger Brown is the worst professor I have ever had. He is disrespectful to students and to America, he calls his students "ignorant" and "unsophisticated", and his demands are highly unfair. Don't take this class!!
