Comment:

He is the worst of the three teachers for BMZ. He looks down when he talks and treats you like you are dumb. When you ask him a question he goes around the answer and is never clear. His powerpoints have animations that do not help whatsoever, but his quizzes are ridiculous. Google all of the answers, but still be prepared for a 19/20. DO NOT TAKE!

Comment:

Completely miserable. Considers lectures a way to go back over what you've "already learned" from reading the massive reading assignments he issues. Quiz and test questions are incredibly difficult, but can usually be found online with some searching. Avoid if you value your GPA and don't want to know every facet of plant biochemistry.

Worst professor I've encountered. Cannot go through a sentence without taking long pauses and saying "uh," until his points become incomprehensible. Fidgets constantly while talking. Quizzes do not reflect lecture but rather is based on the textbook. Powerpoints disorganized and often contain mistakes. Test questions are unreasonably specific.avoid

I must admit, some of the tidbits he told us about plants were interesting, but when it comes to Botany in BMZ, he's not the best. He doesn't cover a lot of material in class yet his quizzes/exams are entirely comprehensive, extremely detailed and impossible. His tests are really hard, and there's is just too much self-teaching for my liking. Avoid

You will learn a lot about trees in BOT 205-- especially names and ID. If you are really interested in trees, it's cool. Don't take it if not! This class requires a lot of study time to get an A. The lectures get long-- bring a beverage with caffeine! Time outside is fun. He will take time to help with questions. Helpful to take with BOT 241.

Being a zoology major, I tried to go to class when he lectured, but it was boring. He speaks in monotone and tries to make bad science jokes. All his quiz points are online, so if you use the book and take the quiz until you get a perfect score, you'll do fine. You really don't have to go to his lectures. And all his test question are from quizzes.

OMG do NOT take any classes from this man... Every day I either fell asleep or seriously contemplated stabbing my eyeball with my pencil. He speaks in a monotonous voice, has no personality, and is actually kinda mean... DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS, KIDS. If you find yourself stuck in it... read the book and buy COFFEE.

He is so boring! i fell asleep in many of his lectures. His quizzes are like 45 questions long and worth 6 points. his test questsions are easy though which is a plus. he makes you want to destroy all plants b/c of how much useless info he makes you learn about them.
