Great and wise teacher overall. He's very knowledgeable in acting and knows how to give good feedback. great warm ups and games in the beginning of class to help loosen us up. no textbook was required. Important to pick a good partner bc your grade will be affected if they do bad in a scene. I got a B bc my final scene partner didn't care.

English is not my 1st language and I still took "Acting Shakespeare". Hard as hell, but loved every second; Ron Scarlata got the best of me. BY FAR THE BEST teacher I've ever had. Left CA in 2000, I visited on 2014. Went to pay my respects to Ron and guess what? He still remembered my FIRST name. Took several classes with Ron, AWESOME. A must have!

If you are interested in Theater because it is your major, minor, or just want to take it for fun, you will NOT regret taking it with Scarlata. He is so hands on with his students and is there every step of the way. Listen to everything he says! It will be useful for the Final! Also, don't be tardy or absent a lot. You will be hurting your grade.

He is passionate and extremely serious about his craft. His class are not easy but all the work you do in his class help you improve as an actor. Don't take this class if your not serious.

Scarlata is much greater than 350 words can explain. He is VERY serious about his craft and makes sure you are too. He takes your acting to a whole other level. All the exercises really help you FOCUS. Your acting becomes so natural and believeable, you feel you're not even acting! It's amazing how much you grow as an actor. <3 his class! MUST TAKE

I took Scarlata for 14a, b and improve and put so much effort into his classes and didn't get a fair grade at all. He knows what he is doing but too strict on everything. If you get into a****ty situation with your partner he will give you another one and extend the time when the project is due. I say see for yourself...

Fun class, but be warned, if you are hoping to do any comedy in this class, turn back now. While it is a fun class and you laugh with your friends, almost every scene you do is serious. If you want to grow as an actor, take the class, but if you perfer comedic acting, take something else.
