very smart teacher, teaches material well but his test are too hard. understanding material not good enough to succeed in his class, need a lot of luck as well. when compared to other org. ou professors, you will learn and understand from him the best, but your grade will suggest otherwise.

He's a good teacher, but the class itself is hard. That could be because it's O-Chem. Just take advantage of his office hours. He has a a very sarcastic humor, but other than that he is good. He really preps you for later chem.

he sucked. his notes were not in any sort of comprehensible order and he didnt really teach, just read the notes (which were bad) to you in class. His tests were the most random things in the world.

Not a good instructor. He taught the first couple of units ok, but when we hit the seventh unit (2nd to last), he was so excited to move on to the next unit that he skipped half of what we had to know for unit 7 test, then he didn't teach the next unit very well. His jokes are stupid and waste time.

Not a very good teacher. Presents material more than really teaches it. Doesn't bother to answer many questions. Is good at teaching upper level Chem courses, but doesn't get along with teaching Gen Chem very well. Definitely would not recommend him, although he is tolerable if you must take him

Very good, clear teaching, but some of his notes are a little confusing. Organic is hard, and you have to study, but he's always available to help. Sometimes tests had a few questions that we didn't cover.

Russell is a great teacher! He can come off rude and sarcastic but that's just his sense of humor. Don't let it discourage you. He wants to help and makes the class as easy as possible while teaching thoroughly. If you don't do well in the class, it is because you need to study more.

After taking both organic one and two with Russell, i feel as i haven't learned anything. I am retaking the course before i take the mcat. Glosshofer is a better professor. I believe i would of learned more with him.
