This professor is very nice and energetic. Though she keeps an extremely full-plate and this makes for a lot of confusion and she can be very unorganized which leaves the students frustrated much of the time. She is willing to work with the students and is very fair. Though, making appointments can be difficult because of her schedule.

ENERGETIC, FUN, keeps you awake! great teacher! cares about students and wants everybody to succeed! even long classes don't seem bad with her! i highly recommend her for any ed classes, and if you get her for CORE, you are so lucky cause you just saved yourself from a semester of boredom!

SO EASY! If you need to miss class or be late, just tell her and she doesn't care. You can turn in assignments & projects late and she lets you re-do anything you want. Really crazy and energetic, be prepared to participate!

Fun professor! I recommend her highly for CORE. She was always doing crazy activities, and making up things to get the class involved. She brought in her guitar one day, and made up a song for a book we were reading. She's an easy grader, so as long as you try, and you fix her suggestions, then you'll do fine. Be prepared for craziness!

i knew comming in as a freshmen that we had to take core and i had no idea which professor to take, so i pretty much randomly choose professor johnston. and i am so happy that i did! she is abo****ely awesome, one of the best teachers ive ever had ever! she makes everything seem so much clearer and easier to understand! i am for core 115 w/ her!!!!

She's been the best prof I've had at VU yet. She made core everything it's supposed to be. Getting to know the people around you and improving your writing skills as well as understanding of the literature. Great teacher with a whole lot of love and care to give. No doubt a keeper if you're goin into freshman core! She only teaches one section so make sure to register early. I never have time to finish me essays for tests and I always get A's! I write informal papers in 10 minutes and she gives full credit and praise for my thoughts :) . She's da BOMB! :)
