Comment:

He is a really nice man. Lectures can be a little dry but interesting. Reading is irrelevent for passing! Just focus on lecture. He had clear and fair grading criteria but his TA graded a little harsh. Overall 3 papers a midterm and final. Solid class and I actually learned a lot.

Comment:

Grattet is a very patient, knowledgeable, and engaging professor. This was one of those classes I actually looked forward to and he made the material so interesting. Doing the readings and going to discussion are helpful but not totally necessary. He gives very clear instructions for the 3 short papers/midterm/final in the class, and grades fairly.

His power points were good, but going to class is important since some information is left out. Exams consist of multiple choice, short answer, and a some what long essay--tests were not that bad as long as you go over your power points in depth (no textbook necessary). Attending discussion was kind of pointless.

I took Grattet for sociology of law expecting the class to put me to sleep if I ever attended lecture. After showing up on the first day, I found Grattet to be very intriguing. I went to almost every class and ended up loving it. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews for this professor because I think he's awesome.

WORST PROF EVER! I have never received a C in any classes except for this one. I don't understand how an incompetent teacher is allowed to teach an upper div class. His lectures are useless and his TA graded the tests and case brief REALLY hard. many people FAILED and it was not their fault. worst teacher ever. take this class with another prof!

WORST professor ever.He doesn't lecture,he just shows videos and has students do presentations.If I wanted to read Wikipedia and watch Nightline,I'd do it on my own time.He is completely awful,do NOT take his class.

Grattet knows his stuff. But he seems like he isnt really interested in teaching and doesn't want to interact with students. Tests are multiple choice, t/f, essay and short answer. Contrary to prior postings, he isnt the worst man in the universe, just hard and unfriendly.

Lectures were fairly interesting, but then seemed to have little to do with exams! Everyone failed midterm, so it was curved. Final was much easier, and despite getting a C+ on midterm I got an A in the class. Extra credit paper was offered. Study groups with others are probably a good idea. My overall feeling was "eh."

This man is a genius he created a program for the class. It's a fun and interesting class but but require alot of work hard. I totally recommend taking any class with this professor. Trust me you won't regret it. He is one of the best professors I've had.

This guy really knows his stuff. Don't take his classes if you are expecting to just breeze through them, but he's awesome if you are truly interested in the course material
