Be prepared to really know if you are made for chemical engineering. His exams are tricky make sure you know the concept and read everything he teaches in class practicing problems will not help and always do the homework that is what seprates a C from a B, A is hard to get, last semester 6 people failed and 5 dropped the class and some Ds

His tests are tricky, but he's a good professor. He teaches concepts rather than direct applications. He always makes sure that you understand what he's saying by picking on the class but he doesn't single you out. Everyone gets picked on. Funny guy.

Kumar has an interesting style of teaching. He'd write a concept on the board and have the class work it out on their own. Sometimes it worked wonders and all the pieces fell into place by thinking it through. Other times the class took a 2hr long field trip to outer space.

Teaches you everything there is to know about one thing... Then tests you on something slightly different. Grades on a curve that pits you against your classmates. You have to beat everyone else in your class. He only gives a few A's a semester. It doesn't matter how well you do. It's all relative.

KUMAR SUCKS. VERY unfair grading, does not teach material...expects you to figure it out yourself. tests are near to impossible, and he gave almost everyone in the class a C,D or F in the class. he wants to be cool and have everyone like him but he SUCKS. i hope i never have to have him again.

The class was easy itself, however the tests sucked and it came down to who had the better cheat sheet from their frat. Very UNFAIR grading...if you did not posses back test you most certainly got a grade of C or below, no matter how hard you worked.

Very intelligent, tries to make class interesting and fun. Gets everyone involved. Not always clear, however, and goes back and forth between extremely simple and extremely difficult concepts.

EXCELLENT professor, but the material is very difficult. He is very lively, and you will actually /want/ to go to every class. The tests and the homework are stressful, but overall he is just a cool dude. Very approachable, great sense of humor. A+!
