Dr. Croucher is a great teacher with an awesome sense of humor. Reading quizzes were kind of dumb but did the job of making sure we read for class. I'd reccomend taking this course. Interesting material and Dr. Croucher has a lot of expertise to add.

Absolutely fantastic prof. Passionate about the subject and the material. The class was based upon class discussions of readings, and Dr. Croucher did an excellent job of shaping that and driving it into a helpful direction. Grade was based upon 10 (easy) reading quizzes, two papers, and a final group presentation/paper.

I would start a fanclub if I could. Seriously, she is very intelligent!! The part I enjoyed most was her ability to help students think through their ideas. You know when you are in class and an idea hits you but you haven't thought through it all the way and even you can tell there are gaps. She is able to listen to you and help you tie it all up.

Unless you really enjoy reading, don't take this class. A third of the grade is based on these stupid reading quizzes, which she admits have no point other than to make sure people are reading the material. Meanwhile, participation, which should be the backbone of a class like this, only counts for a tenth of the total grade.

I love Croucher. One of the most interesting and informative classes I have had. There are no exams, just reading quizzes and a paper. You have to keep up with the reading but it was all current and interesting material. I am scheduled to take her again, she is very approachable and intelligent.

she talks realllly fast, but the material is interesting. there's lots of abstract thought-class would be better if it were smaller. all in all, she's nice and helpful if you need it. if you need a lot of time for material to sink in, dont bother with this class

Disliked her class at first, but after a while we came to an understanding. You have to keep an open mind. She obviously has strong political views, but does a pretty good job at keeping open minded. Sort of hard...expect to work and read a lot.
