I LOVED Dr. Finkle. She makes it clear in the beginning of the trimester that you can't slack. Just put in the work and you will get an A. Plus, this class is your future so she doesn't make it easy. Really good about connecting this class to real life information. Also, she gives you what you need to know for exams, no surprises.

She knows exactly what she's doing. You will get out of this class exactly what you put into it. If you give little effort, don't expect a lot. If you really care for the education major, you will learn a lot in this class as well as have some great resources to help you in your future as an educator.

Sheryl Finkle is the meanest, rudest, least respectful faculty member I have ever had the displeasure of working with. She is hypocritical, inflexible and yells. She's not interested in making you a good teacher, just making you blindly obedient. She is the worst. When she was "helping me" she was just huffing, puffing and complaining. Horrible.

EDN 101 is most definitely a "weed out" class. She does not take this lightly. She is tough, but she really does mean well. However, in my class she talked a lot about not "generalizing" our future classes but she generalized my entire class the whole term. Be confident in being a teacher because she will tear you down like no other.

Dr. Finkle is one of the best professors here at North Central College. She is incredibly clear on assignments and gives very good feedback. She is a tough professor, but weeds out the people who are not suited to teaching.

Not only was she unclear on many different aspects of our assignments, she also graded very harshly on what we did do. She also demanded things of us as educators that she, herself, would not do... hypocrite, much?

Dr. Finkle is rough around the edges but is the perfect teacher for this class. There is a big project that takes up a lot of time. She explains lectures through powerpoints and is very personable. She is tough on those in this class to make sure education is the right path for you.

You need to be on your A-Game for her. She will weed out the people who are truly not meant for teaching. Be organized (for she will not help you with that at all) and you will be fine. She will try to turn you off to teaching, but if you stay on the ball, you will like her.

She is hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. I graduated and got a job right away, so it's not like I suck at this. I was diagnosed with MS and missed class because i was in the hospital. When I got back she made a comment about having a student undergoing chemo that never missed a class. In front of EVERYONE.

Yes, she is strict, but she's getting rid of the students that don't belong in education. If your passion is teaching, you will enjoy her class. She comes off mean, but she grows on you quickly &if you need help, ask. Becoming a teacher means you need to learn to think for yourself without hand holding & that's what she teaches you to do.

She will weed out all of the people in class who are in education for the wrong reason, but if you are truly passionate about teacher she is one of the best professors on campus. Loved how she ran class, and you'll have to study 5-7 hrs for every test, if you do that you'll be successful.

Her personality just turns me away from the class. She tries way too hard to get people to not teach. I think she's a bigger Ohio fan than a teacher. Very strict and boring personality. I hope to not have her again and will do my best to avoid her.

She's tough but it weeds out the non hackers. When you seek her help it actually makes you feel worse, but I don't think she means it, it's the way she comes off. She knows the profession inside and out. She's intense, that's why they call her "The Busey."

Very enthusiastic...too hyper of a professor for an 8am class. Watching her being hyper so early in the morning drained me further. I thought she was a tough grader until I had Carballo. The class was a roller coaster and i'm glad its over. She's an a school teacher on steroids. I appreciate her more now than I did when I had her.

This teacher is enthusiastic and well prepared. She makes the students find their own meaning for the concepts, which takes time but is worth it. She is always willing to help, knowledgeable, and fun. She will prepare you well for a career in teaching.

I think that she is a very tough teacher, but she is willing to help you through the class. She weans out the weak in this course which should be her job for an entry level education class. I think she is a very effective teacher.
