AMAZING, passionate prof. knows his stuff, will go out of his way to help you understand. But scale is everything, you need to be sure you understand the concepts to the depth that is expected. He touches on a lot of interesting but extraneous info, and you might need to ask ' will we need to know x, do we have to be able to explain y?' also OWLS

Probably the smartest person i know. respected author, researcher and the worst professor ever. kept confusing induction and deduction then gave a midterm question worth 20% of the exam on it. waste of time.

I love Soren to pieces. His voice sounds EXACTLY like Winnie the Pooh! He intimidated me at first, but it soon became clear all he cares about is your learning. He has a streak of refreshing honesty. I had him in a field course, which was perfect for his style of teaching.
