Professor Beaudreau is absolutely hilarious. She did a great job making Canadian history actually interesting and also taught us about the culture along the way. Her tests are pretty difficult but there are other ways to improve your grade like quizzes (which are easy). I would definitely suggest taking this class if you need it for a gen-ed credit

Light workload, but tests are based off very off the wall information. Only one paper and a few quizzes. No homework and very simple quizzes based off from study guides you go over before the quiz. Take notes and study a little. very nice woman, just a little eccentric

Hockey history was a very interesting class, and you can tell she is very passionate about it. She also posts all of the outside reading you will have to do online so there was no need to buy a book. Very good class and an even better teacher.

Professor Beaudreau is amazing. I have taken her HIS171 and HIS172. You only have one paper, and a few easy reading based questions. You need no textbook, as she will provide you the readings online. I highly recommend this teacher, she is amazing.

kind woman but extremely tough grader. Gives no tests but 6 papers each worth 10% of overall grade, which are hard to ace. Accepts late work but is tough on attendance, grading and bad with emailing back. Wouldnt not recommend her but definitely not the easiest A.

No Textbook Needed for this class. She gives you paper handouts for every reading in class. Reading Quizzes are common. Great Lectures :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO PAPERS !!!!!!!! She feels that Canadian History is hard for American students to fully understand, and in the past had problems with papers. So she no longer gives paper assignments.

Intresting class, great professor! Midterm and final are very easy to do well on. I did the study guide for each chapter, and received an A on the midterm and the final. I will be taking another class with her when it fits in my scheduleX

The course is disorganized, and her style of teaching is similar. The workload is otherwise bearable. She's quite helpful in office hours and she'll like you if you show that you care at least somewhat. She's nice to have a chat with. She lets you resubmit papers, and she dropped our midterm grades if we did better on the final.

one of my favorite history professors. She does go off topic ALOT but its usually interesting and funny. there is alot of reading but you can get by if you skim through everything. Ive had her twice and i can say from experiance that she is always willing to help- from helping you to find articlesresearch to giving you extra time on the papers

Beaudreau is an awesom teacher, easy going, and very helpful. She is witty an funny, and easy to swing your way. Be open minded because it is Canada you're learning about, but you'll find it a lot cooler than you'd expect.

Comment:
Really easy class, you have to buy the textbook because it is heavily used. As long as you do the study guide, you should be fine for the quizzes. Not very good controlling the classroom, in my class the hockey players were basically in charge. Nice, but loves Canada so don't bash it.
