Very intelligent, and interesting, but can be harsh on grading, and the attendance policy is whack. You truly can't miss one assignment if you want to get an A. Also, his handwriting is illegible.

You can't read his writing on the board or on your papers. He gives you handouts, but doesn't go over them until the class before something is due. His jokes can be somewhat offensive. He's not the worst teacher I've ever had, but he is not best. He is a little weird and his disscusions have nothing to do with english.

If you can't stand people who overestimate their intelligence just because they have a PhD, don't take him. However, as much as I hate to admit it, you'll learn a lot about writing.
