Comment:

One of the most inspirational and passionate professors (or person) I have ever had or have heard about. If only the world could have more people like prof. Dowd! It has been almost 6 years and I still refer to this class, and grow from its message now. Just want to say Thank You for being YOU! You inspire and pass your energy to your students! :)

Honestly the best prof i have ever had in my life. I took this class because of a recommendation from a friend and i left a changed person. Take this class, it will alter your thinking and give you a whole new perspective on life you have never had before.

As cliche as it sounds, Tim's class changed me. I was dealing with a lot during the semester and he was very understanding, helpful, and stayed interesting. You have to apply what he's teaching to your life.. if you relate every topic to you then you'll truly understand things that initially seem complicated. NOT A BLOW-OFF CLASS!

easily the best teacher i have ever had very clear on everything and if something doesn't make sense to you he will explain it another way the class is hard work and to get a good grade you have to show him your learning something but if you do he is the best teacher at schoolcraft hands down

The absolute best professor I have had to date. I am a transfer student and even at the University I'm at now, not one professor comes close to Prof. Dowd. He is excellent at keeping his students interested in the material and has amazing methods of helping you comprehend. You must participate and actually use your brain in this class ;)

Simply put, Dowd is the best professor you will ever have in your life. He does his best to teach you what you need to know so you can use it in real life. It?s not a blow off class. But you?ll never want to blow it off. Not too much text book usage. Do yourself a favor, take this class, and listen. He encourages talking too, so don't be affraid!!

Take this class. The 1st day, i wanted to cuss him out and punch him in the face. The next day, i didnt hate him so much, and now i friken adore him. I talk about him with my friends & actualy try to use what he teach's us. You'll be glad you took this class, it isnt a easy a, but it will change your life.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! He's by far my favorite professor I've ever had. He makes every topic understandable in his own unique way, even the complicated things. DON'T BE AFRIAD TO SPEAK UP, DEBATE, OR ASK QUESTIONS! He encourages it (actually, it's a huge chunk of your grade; class participation). Not too much hw, just a few mini quiz's. It's a fun time!

Prof Dowd is easily the most intelligent prof I've ever had. He is extremely passionate and funny. He has inspired me to pursue a career in philosophy, and to rethink my choices in life. He swears a ridiculous amount, but he gets your attention and keeps it. Brilliant and honest.

Very clear and understanding teaching method over all compared to previous prof. I've had at Schoolcraft. He brings up relative and interesting topics during lectures. None of the lectures I've attended have been boring. Overall great professor for any philosophy class.

Really passionate about his work. One of the only classes that I actually enjoyed attending, and one of the only classes I ever learned something from. Definitely not easy, you have to participate to earn a good grade. I would recommend him to anyone!

Easily the most intelligent professor I've ever had. While attendance isn't mandatory, it affects your grade tremendously. If you participate and show him you care about his class, and that you're "getting it" you'll do great. Showing up to class, doing homework and memorizing material won't get you a 4.0. The key is to show him you're thinking.

This is problably the first class I have taken I college that I actually wanted to go to class. He tells you the truth about everything even if you dont want to hear it. Makes you think but its worth it. Best professor I have had so far. No other teacher even comes close.

Tim Dowd's philosophy class changed my life. Really. He has the ability to actually reach his students. This was the first (and probably only) class that I actually looked forward to each week. I would recommend this class to anyone who could take it, whether it is required or not... *THE INVISIBLE MAN*

Best teacher I've ever had. I thought that good teachers did'nt exist at Schoolcraft until I took his class. Makes you think. You'll actually apply the stuff he teaches you into real life. Highly reccomended.
