I was very fortunate to have prof. Silva as a teacher for ENGL 106. He taught me small but significant things to make my papers that sound and flow much better. He is very nice, and is willing to help out any individuals struggling or needing assistance. I would definitely recommend!

Very biased and defensive. Insists on his point of view. People who contradict him will be ridiculed. For a better experience, I would recommend Professor Bern. She is widely regarded as more likable and attractive as a teacher and a human being. Silva is more of a legacy than anything else.

I think he is great. He never makes his students feel like their comments are not smart or not wanted. He is very kind and helpful. His class is well structured and quite easy.
