Dr. Everett never ceased to completely hold my attention. He does what a college professor should: not "dumb down" the course material but present a challenge which enhances one's critical thinking skills. Although I hold an MFA and, for the moment, am done with "schooling," I wish I could take a class of his each semester for the rest of my life.

I went to law school after USI, and Dr. Everett is one of the professors that I am very fond of. Challenging and demanding, but not unreasonable, and he took a sincere delight in helping students improve. I am still miffed that not enough people signed up for the Chaucer class he was going to teach, and it was cancelled.

Okay, enough already, when are coming back, sir? This university is falling apart without your guidance. I understand that saving the English dept. is a lot to ask, but who else is going to do it, Rivers? I think not.

Prof. Everett was one of my all time favorite teachers! Who could say anything bad about him? He is a very warm, caring professor. His classes were interesting and he added a lot to the class through his own personal experiences. What a wonderful person!

I had Dr. Everett for three different classes, and found him to be one of the most interesting, intellegent people I have ever met. I hope he enjoys his retirement, but I am sorry to see the university lose him. Great man. I love listening to his voice, with the soft southern accent.

To say something bad about Dr. Everett is to crucify Jesus Christ all over again. He is the best professor and human who has ever lived. This university will be lost without his knowledge and direction, but the gifts he's left behind:priceless! You'll be missed sir; I'll see you at your party!

His class was usually very boring, but somewhat easy. The papers are easy, but the in-class work is ridiculous sometimes. I didnt think he was very clear in explaining things, and I seldomly found him to be helpful. He is a very intelligent man though! Funny sometimes.

This professor constantly speaks in a monotone. He makes things that can be very interesting boring. He thinks he is helping you piling on the extra work but in the end it is simply monotonous and unnecessary. Avoid him at all costs.

He's a very tough teacher, but once you learn what he wants it's pretty easy to do well. He knows his stuff and expects you to know it too.
