Exams are a breeze. Most people aced the first exam. Final though was a different story with the average being about 50-60%. He grades on a curve though so it was not a big problem. Homework is required. EXAM QUESTIONS COME STRAIGHT FROM HOMEWORK AND CLASSWORK. CAN USE HOMEWORK ON EXAMS. JUST COPY PASTE DATA INTO ALREADY WORKED PROBLEMS. HINT HINT.

Class was fairly easy, but the final will sneak up on you. Having an understanding of Excel and its formulas will def help. The week before the tests are the best review sessions. Class seemed scattered at times and he has a hard time connecting to the students with some of his scenarios. Nice guy, just not the most impactful professor.

This class will stress you out. You will learn more on the review lecture a week before the test. That is the only time he teaches. Homework is worth a big portion of the grade. Buy Chegg Study for $15 a month, trust me. For the exams, write a step by step guide on how to solve each problem and you will be good. Ended up with a B.

He is really nice and does care about his students BUT I personally did not learn a single thing in that class. His teaching to me is confusing and he'd write on the board, but half way so I was always lost. I honestly think I only passed this class because of online help.

Dr. Burns is a fantastic individual. He is very knowledgeable and loves to tell the class about his real-world experience. He is incredibly understanding and will help you if you need help. His exams and homework are hard. However, he curves, go to class and do the homework you will pass.

This professor does NOT teach! He continuously went on and on about his predicted presidential results! He barely went over any of the material so if you need a teacher, then dont take him! At the beginning of the semester he seems cool because he emphasizes how you dont need a book and he is knowledgable, but dont trust him!

Bill Burns was my favorite professor. He is everything that is good about college. With much real-world marketing research experience, he is laid back and sensitive to student needs and questions. This guy was informative, enjoyable, helpful. 10/10 - would recommend.

He is highly intelligent, funny, and overall awesome. I would take every class he teaches if I could. He tells you exactly what's on the quizzes and tests, no surprises. Very helpful and kind if you have a question. Doesn't care about attendance. Don't buy the book, we've never used it.

Dr. Burns was great! You take 6 quizzes and he drops the lowest one (first 2 or 3 you grade yourself), 5 homework assignments (if you put in some effort, you'll get 100%), and one final exam given a week before finals day. He has awesome stories, you don't need to buy a textbook, and he cares about his students. You get a paper of notes for test!

Like others have said, class isn't mandatory, but you'll need to go to every lecture to learn the material. If you do this, there is no reason for you not to get an A. I nearly finished with 100%. He is a really cool teacher with great stories. Take him!

Hands down the best professor I've had at CSUSM. Class is not mandatory, but it would be difficult to pass without regular attendance. Lectures were interesting and fun, however. Class is composed of 5 or 6 quizzes, a final, and a paper or survey participation. Quizzes are fairly easy, final is difficult (cheat sheet allowed). Great professor!

Stats is boring but going to class is useful. He is very straightforward with quizzes and will almost always review beforehand. Homework is decent, just tedious, final is hard, but as long as you study beforehand and practice use of formulas, its passable. Definitely recommend Burns though for BUS 304!!!!

Do not buy the textbook, just wasting your money. His quizzes and the final are based off exactly what he lectures on in class and nothing else. Very helpful and patient to explain topics when the class did not understand. Makes the class interesting by telling many great stories about his experiences.

SUCH an awesome teacher! He's extremely helpful. You can ask the most obvious and dumb question and he still wouldn't do anything to make you feel bad for not knowing the answer. He's very clear in what he expects of you, and his grading is fair as well. Awesome professor!

He made the class interesting. Statistics is known as being a dry topic, but he shared some of his life stories that used statistics to show the usage of the material outside the classroom. He was intelligent and considerate about what his students thought about the topic too. I would definitely recommend his class. Weekly quizzes are easy too.

He's a good guy and a decent teacher, but tells a lot of stories of his life, so expect classes to be rather boring. It's a stats class, and it's boring and hard if you're not interested in the subject. Homework is easy, but tests are really hard. Make sure you study A LOT. Final seemed like he went out of his way to make it hard. But good guy

Dr. Burns is a good teacher of a tough subject. He lets you know what is going to be on the exams -- anyone who failed the exams TOTALLY did not take advantage of the help he tried to give.

Dr. Burns is a wonderful professor. He is very knowledgeable in the field and has impressive professional status. Terrific stories in class and goes over everything including advice in business/life. He gives a practice final and midterm, but be prepared for some "curve balls" on the exams. Pick a dedicated group for the project, it's a lot of work.
