I went all of the way through calculus in high school, meaning that I have taken this class before, but I could not figure out this class! I was able to understand her for the most part after a couple days, but she goes so fast and it's very easy to not listen. I had to drop it so that it didn't completely ruin me.

Dr. Yu is a funny lady. She enjoys doing math, but sometimes she has difficult time understanding what is difficult in the material. MTH 315 is tricky, but to be honest, it's rather straight forward. Do your homework, go to her office to ask for help on set theory, and then you'll do well on the test. The test questions are the hw problems.

How does an A student get a C in Algebraic Structures? Take a new and unfamiliar subject and the fact that Dr Yu is just not an effective teacher and you have the ingredients for a very bad experience. I am upset because I strongly believe that I would have learned more and received a better grade with a different teacher. Avoid this professor!

Dr. Yu was a very sweet and very helpful instructor. A lot of people in my class got frustrated because she always liked to go through proofs. As a math major, I was glad that she did the proofs, because I am going to have to learn that eventually. Highly recommended!

Very nice professor, she was always willing to help and has a good sense of humor. I would recommend her class to anybody who has to take the math major calculus.

She is an extremely friendly lady. She knows her material. The only thing is it takes a minute to figure out what she is saying. She has an accent and has trouble hearing sometimes, but she is always willing to help you when you need it. Just go to her office and she'll always have a smile on her face. RECOMMENDED

Dr. Yu is perhaps the sweetest professor I have ever come in contact with! She is very willing to help, and has a really laid back personality. However, her test are very long and almost impossible to finish. Keep this in mind if you are a slow worker because in a class of 32 probably only 4 at most finish her test with in the time limit.

She is so sweet! if you're absent for quiz/test she's flexible. She does mess up while lecturing, but laughs at her own mistakes, which makes it a relaxed environment. She's the only teacher i've had that ever let us use the study guides SHE WRITES OUT FOR YOU on the tests!she understands not everyone is a math whiz & formulas r hard to memorize

If your going to take mth 130, take her. VERY easy class. She is a nice, sweet old lady and does a great job of covering the material. Sometimes difficult to understand, and often says or writes the wrong words and numbers.

She is so funny! She makes herself laugh a lot! The tests were exaclty like homework and quizes. She gives plenty of examples to do well with only that knowledge. She is sometimes hard to understand with her accent, but overall it is clear. Recommended.

Very Very Nice Lady. She knows what she is doing and she is very good teacher. It is difficult to understand her sometimes but after the first week you'll be used to it. Every time I needed help she was very willing to help me understand everything.

She's very difficult to understand, she goes extremly fast and doesn't anwser homework questions in class. Her test are extremly long and hard and no one ever finishes them. You turn in home work and it has to be all right to get full credit.
