Dr. Bensley gives clear lectures and speaks clear in his textbook. If you read, do the practice exercises, take the online quizzes, you'll get an A. The exercises are graded on completion and the quizzes are online. I did a lot of studying the night before the exams. You will not get away with not reading, if you do not read, do not take the course

I took this professor for 155 and had an abysmal time barely escaping the dry, opinionated class. I actually managed to find another teacher for 201 and had no trouble passing at all. As a result I decided to give Bensley another chance. At this point I am asking myself, "why I am paying a teacher to tell me to teach myself?" Needs more instruction

Yes, he requires you to buy a textbook he has written, NBD lots of professors do that. Lectures follow the textbook and include information not in the book which will be on the exams. The lectures, exercises and exams can be confusing. The content isn't difficult to understand, so he intentionally MAKES it confusing to "challenge" the students.

Bensley is not a bad professor. He just has some flaws in his teaching that really erk my nerves. For example, he won't check the homework until the very last minute which makes me late for work which I have right after his class. He doesn't put any feedback on the quizzes like he says he does. Most of his material is opinionat so prepare to retake

He isn't very open minded or helpful. He almost always starts class late and is always complaining about something.

Opinionated know-it-all. Easy class but painful to sit through. Unfortunately this is required for the Psych major and he is the only professor that teaches it. womp womp.

Dr. Bensley is really passionate about the subject matter, and it's apparent that he wants his students to do well, but he's not great at making his expectations clear for assignments. Ask questions to make sure you understand exactly what he's looking for in your work. He's very open to that, and it will help you.

Dr. Bensley makes you buy a textbook: A MANUSCRIPT of a book he wrote and submit to Worth Publishing. This class is only taught by him, and is a requirement for the Psychology major. Beware. He makes really bad jokes, though. You can basically make him into a meme. Dr. Bensley tries to be helpful, but overall, this class is pretty awful.

Okay just please go to class because some things he said are actually really important and READ! He is tough but if you are willing to do the work you should be fine. And if you are confused on something, do not be afraid to ask questions.. He may not be as clear but you will figure it out

TOP FIVE REASONS YOU WILL DISLIKE BENSLEY 1. His questions for quizzes and exercises are completely OPINIONATED! 2. He makes things difficult for no reason. 3. He will QUICKLY become annoying. 4. He makes you buy his unpublished book. 5. HE IS THE ONLY TEACHER FOR 155!!!!!! OVERALL, be prepared for the possibility of re-taking the class

He is THE ONLY professor you can take Critical Thinking with, a class he wrote the "book" for. In this case, the book is a unpublished, unedited stack of papers he gives you weekly. There is so much busy work you're doing more than 300 level class classwork in it, and you have to use respondus for quizzes, which is categorically glitchy and bad.

I took him for 3 classes. They are lecture style. He is very intelligent. He writes his own textbooks and they are great (there are no guesses as far as what info to learn. There is no surprises as far as tests. They are 50-75 multiple choice items. Participation is not necessary. He also involves students in his research. Take his classes.

You don't have a choice but to take him for Psyc 155. He comes in late but gets pissed when you are. He writes his own textbook but hes been writing it for 20 years and continually have been correcting him. He disorganized and most of his answers are always opinionated. It's also a 100 level class but after all the work it seems like a 300.

First off, you have to buy HIS unpublished textbook, more like a stack of papers that has many grammatical errors. He comes off arrogant and does not like to take much time in explaining things. He is usually always late but then gets mad when students are late. Tests and quizzes are somewhat tough and he does not help you prepare for them.

He does use his own unpublished book, but saying that is the reason you did poorly in the class is an unreasonable excuse. Just read the chapters word for word, DON'T SKIM THROUGH IT! His test and quiz answers are almost verbatim from his book. Also give an honest effort on the practice quizzes on the study guides, they really do help.

Do not EVER take one of his classes. He is the WORST professor I have EVER had. He's arrogrant and rude. Doesnt care about his students. uses his self written UNPUBLISHED "textbook" that has countless grammatical and factual errors. Always late and runs class past the ending time.

Always late, never prepared, uses his OWN BOOK (has grammar errors), and isn't helpful. I went to his office once and he made me feel stupid for asking the questions I did. I always went to class and did the hw and was still lost. When he says, "It took me 3 classes to understand stat so if this is attempt #1, good luck." Still don't get it.

RESEARCH METHODS 2. If you go to class, do what is asked of you, and complete the online material, you will pass. The class is going to be time consuming. But if you ask him for help and meet him in his office he will make sure you understand. He expects students to be competent adults, so don't expect to get a free ride. Be responsible.

pt2, he comes to class late and complains to students about them being late. If you want to set rules and want students to follows these rules, follow them yourself! second, if we paying for your class provide a better book not a manuscript and third, we pay you to teach not listen to your smart mouth or teach ourselves!
