Very condescending, it seems like she gets off on making her students nervous or by putting them on the spot. She straight up will stop students while theyre presenting to criticize them in front of the class instead of doing it afterwards. Shes obviously smart, but she wont let you forget it. Youll hear about all of her life accomplishments.

Prof. Haines is EXTREMELY condescending and enjoys publicly humiliating people. I am one of her favorites in the class and she still treats me like gum on the bottom of her shoe. The only time she enjoys teaching the class is when we cover the topic of masturbation (and yes the entire class cringes). I recommend avoiding her at all costs.

She knows what she is talking about and is passionate about Psychology. Although she appears a little bit "scary", she is nice and willing to help you, given that you are willing to learn seriously. And she is not rude to me, although I don't speak English as the first language.

Very critical, often malicious, all while maintaining a smiley exterior. Despite her critical, condescending attitude towards her class, she grades very fairly and is extremely helpful one-on-one. If you're in her class, build up a personal relationship.

Beth Haines is one of the best professors I've had at Lawrence. She'll challenge you, and doesn't put up with slackers, but her teaching method is very clear and she knows what she is talking about. Make sure to do the readings. She will call you out on it.

Horrible, immature, insecure and vindictive person. Often seeks to humiliate students publicly rather than constructively criticize, privately if appropriate. Knowledgeable and clearly well-versed but brags about her accomplishments until you no longer believe anything she claims to have done. AVOID if you are sensitive, or get on her bad side!!

Fairly good lecturer but is very critical and condescending toward students in lab. Makes students nervous and not perform as well as they might. Also often singles out and "attacks" students in front of class and acts like clarifying questions are wasting her time. However, she can be fairly helpful at times and is knowledgeable in her field.
