She is a very good instructor. I usually hate english, but her class was one of the most enjoyable I've had in a while. She is very helpful and very approachable! My writing has greatly improved since being in her class. She always goes over interesting subjects and is very involved with class. Definitely try to get her as and instructor!!!

Excellent teacher and is very easy to talk to. Essay assignment topics/instructions were lengthly but don't be afraid to email her and ask questions about ideas for them, her comments were always very helpful. Don't use cell phones in class, she'll kick you out.

This is one of the best classes I have taken at KU. Wicktor is a great teacher who picks great plays to read and hosts great conversations that provide an in-depth view of the readings. Her assignments are clear and as long as you do the readings and see her in your office hours if you need help you'll do great!

LOVE Emily! This is one of my favorite classes this semester. Plays are provocative and discussions are great. Emily has a wonderful sense of humor and really puts her all into teaching her classes. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

Emily is great! Her class is ALWAYS interesting. There is a considerable amount of work but for the most part its easy to complete. She's a fair grader and if you followe her guidelines its extremely easy to get an A on the tests. Our class average for our midterm was a B+

You have to read the plays bc she does actually grade participation. The plays she chooses though are very interesting and she is good with discussion. Her tests can be a little tricky bc you have to identify quotes but if you read you will do fine. The only bad thing is she doesn't really tell you where you are at in the class until it is over.

I loved Emily! I remember when I was taking her class as an elective and it was more interesting than the classes I was taking for my major. She is super funny and very helpful. I also thought that it was cool that when I told her that I was in a band she went to my band's website and signed our guestbook. Definitley take her class!

Comment:

Super nice and VERY fun. Discussions are engaging and provocative. Emily enjoys coming teaching and does a good job of making class interesting. Not a breeze class but you should get an A if you want one AND put in some effort. Really pushes Marxist, Freudian and feminist literary theory...but it's not a snor-fest either. Recommended, definately!
