Very knowledgeable about the Middle East, good lectures, agree he repeats himself so you can easily get by with a few absences. Not much homework, I did read the Cooley book but it wasn't necessary. Show up often and take good notes and you will have enough information for the essays. 12 page research paper is the only downside.

Prof. El-Eid is very clearly a brilliant guy. Regardless of one's viewpoint, this translates to some pretty amazing lectures. El-Eid helped me understand the Middle East to a greater degree, and definitely changed my viewpoint on some topics. Highly recommend!!

Professor tends to repeat a lot of the same things and is choppy on how he deals with issues. Tend to be focused on the middle east and overall is not open to other opinions despite being a social science professors. Honestly was disappointed by this course. It is educational and changed my opinion on issues but it lectures are repetitive.

Professor El-Eid is one of the most intelligent professors on Central's campus. While he is the only Political Science professor that I've had express his views of the world, I don't mind it because it's always based in fact. I've taken two classes with him now, only 3 grades all semester, midterm, research paper and final. Don't skip class.

Comment:
Dr. El-Eid classes are very thoughtful and interesting, he has a cult like following, sort of like groupies, that always take his classes. He's not intimidating at all, but if you challenge him or disagree with his viewpoint, don't expect to get a fair grade, you'll get a good grade, if you want an A, don't disagree with him in class and tests.

Dr. El-Eid is a bit intimidating but he's a very nice guy if you approach him. He only gives a midterm, final and one paper for all classes. His classes are all-lecture, but they're excellent lectures if you pay attention and open your mind. Expect brutal honesty about the Middle East, not propaganda. He's well-respected and his class is worth it.

What a great teacher, I learned so much in this class. The way he lectures and gives analysis of key events is natural. A must take professor if you want to learn about politics in the middle east. 2 easy exams and a final paper + presentation .... no quizzes nothing else to worry about during the semester. Don't miss taking him ..

He is the most influential poli sci teacher I have ever taken a course with. Possibly the most interesting prof at CCSU. Take his classes even if you are not a major. Go to the meetings outside class/office hours. Although he has some level of bias which is anti-Israel, his perspective is unique and a product of his environment. Wise like Moses!

Comment:
Do not take for more than one class at once, whereas discussion is based off of his view of current events. An alright person, but does not seem concerned with whether or not students actually learn and grow as a result of his courses. Exhibits bias, but not to the extent many claim. If you think Israel is flawless, don't bother with his classes.

knows his stuff, knows the material very well, slightly biased because he is always on the side of lebanon, definitely not understanding of student issues at all, if you plan on ever needing anything from a professor this is not the man, huge ****
