I HATED this man when I first started his class. He's crass, but he just wants you to understand law from every perspective. He's now one of my favorite professors. be ready for him to ask you tough questions. All grade are turned in online and quizzes need the Lockdown Browser. READ THE CHAPTERS and you will have NO problem passing the quizzes!

absolutely love Dr. Sloan. Here's an idea...if you don't want to take a hard class drop out of college! Dr. Sloan is by far one of the best professors I have EVER had. He wants you to learn how to stand by your opinion and be prepared for the real world. I would highly recommend taking him if you want a good class. He knows his stuff!!!

Sloan is amazing if you're intelligent and can hold your own in debate. The law class I took was structured like, bum bum bum, LAW SCHOOL! He is a very thorough, no-nonsense instructor but is very entertaining in a dry-wit, condescending manner. He is also very helpful outside of class if you approach him. Overall my favorite UAB professor.

Very unprofessional! Tries to make every student look like an idiot. He asks for your opinion, although, thinks his views and opinions are the only ones that are right. It doesn't matter what you say, he will disagree with anything and make you look stupid in the process.

Yeah, Sloan's a hard teacher. I hate the Socratic method of teaching, and I hated the way he'd disagree with everything until I got to the point he wanted. But, I enjoyed his classes, I learned a great deal, and I always found him to be helpful. Arrogant, irritating, but overall a good teacher.
