I had her class on 20th century US history. Her major interest is in the social movements of the time and it amazed me how the events of the 20th century could be covered with almost no mention of the two world wars, events that definitely had an impact on later events.

I THOUGHT SHE WAS WONDERFUL, THE CLASS WAS ABOUT AS INTERSTING AS A HISTORY CLASS COULD BE (YES, ITS NOT REAL EXCITING MATERIAL), AND EASY TO FOLLOW. SHE WAS VERY APPROACHABLE AND OPEN.

I found Dr. Aiken to be incredibly challenging and interesting. I loved how her lectures always started with the point she was going to argue. I took four classes from her while I was in school.

Very dry style and very difficult to interact with. She's kind of aloof and can be really condescending. There is no room for discussion or intellectual reparte with her. She's always right, even when she is wrong.

She is pretty easy overall, but is one of the most boring teachers i have ever had. If you have a short attention span I would stay away from her classes.
