It's been a few years since I had her, but I remember the readings that were dry and difficult as well as the associated quizzes and unfair grading system. This made me change my major to Engineering from Gender Studies- Thank God I did!

Briggs is a pretty cool, funny and approachable teacher, but the way the course was organized kind of sucked. We had to read A LOT and complete quizzes and discussions in a very specific time frame, so there was no way to get work done early if we wanted to. The grading was also kind of ridiculous. But an interesting class overall!

Prof Briggs will expand your mind. If you think eugenics was just something the Nazis did, you need to take her class. Great readings, laid-back presentation, respectful discussion.

Hist. of Mod. Sexualities Lectures are not too bad. But she gives a ton of reading. Quizes usually involve detailed aspects of the reading. She's nice, and will agree with just about anything you say in lecture. Hard class though.
