Comment:

Super high expectations. Hard grader. Cares a lot about her students. Always willing to help. Goes out of her way to make sure we're learning things that we care about. Lectures super fast. This particular class didn't have exams, but there were a lot of discussion groups, presentations, and papers.

Comment:

Mccoey cares a lot for IT majors. I appreciate the amount of effort she puts into getting alumni and folks in the IT field to talk to class. She has quite a dry sense of humor and loves to pick on certain students that she gives her "trouble". Quizzes are easy, online, open internet same thing with tests. Group project is the toughest part of class

High expectations. very harsh grading, group project worth a lot of your grade so turn in everything, So much work given at a 1 time a long while the group projects are due but each assignment has its own due date. Nice lady though. Has 1 or 2 open bookinternet tests and a open bookinternet final. don't buy the book just search for the pdf.

Comment:

McCoey is very speedy in her lectures, and she sometimes speaks on a level a bit beyond what the typical introductory course should consist of. However, she is very helpful and will ALWAYS be available for help outside of class. She wants to see her students do well, but the class is far from easy. The class is not impossible, but it's difficult.

A very nice, down-to-earth teacher. She is always available for help outside of class. Class is basically slide-shows and she can be unclear some time, but she works through the unclarity with examples. Tests are relatively short and if you can do decent on them, you're basically guaranteed a B-.

Honestly one of the most insensitve teachers I've ever had. If you have medical conditions and aren't able to hand in assignments on class, she really is very legalistic about things and won't give you any exemptions. I tried talking to her and she basically said "Tough luck, social and medical situations are the same". Do NOT take this teacher!

I wish I could say the same good things about McCoey, but she made a real easy class really hard. She has a loud voice. Nice lady, but she assigns SO much work. I wouldnt b too upset if I had her again, but Id look at my options first. I dont recomment missing a class. Shes nuts and knows what shes talking about. Shes not too bad.
