Finance is a hard subject, & the only thing nice about Hatfield is that she doesn't have an accent so you can understand what she is saying. The tests are MC and a few long problems. She lets you replace one of your test grades with your final exam grade. 10pts extra credit if you come to class every day. Cheat sheets are allowed.

Easy class. Lectures are a little boring, but she gives extra credit for attendance. All tests are open book, so the text is necessary to buy. A lot of little projects and some busy work, but the class overall is easy. Nice prof too, really cares about students and tries to make the class simple.

I thought she was a good teacher overall. She makes powerpoints for her lessons, and posts them online. Print them out before class and take notes on them. Read the book and you will be fine. She does go off on tangents a lot during her lectures but its really not that bad. I recommend her.

If you plan on taking Hatfield's class, prepare to teach yourself. She tells you immediately that all material covered in lecture will not show up on the test, and attendance is mandatory. I read each chapter and took notes and still found myself scrambling through the text for answers during the exam. Lots of time and energy for a C+.

Not a very good teacher at all. She just talks about her life stories and makes you watch Orpah. Her test have nothing to with anything she talks about in class. They are open book test but they are so picky that it doesnt really help out. Bottom line if you know anything about finance DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

She is the most wortheless teaher here at Bradley. I have learned nothing from her, and had to search through the book during her tests to find answers that aren't even in there. I learned more in my High School Finance classes than with her. She needs to be FIRED!

All tests are open note open book, but you have to study or you wont finish the test on time. She is very helpful if you are stuck and she has alot of personal experience to put behind the learning.

Doesn't teach much. Really likes showing videos with mandatory attendance and then doesn't show up herself. Lots of work, must teach yourself.

Waste of money. Doesn't teach. Get ready to watch Oprah, with mandatory attendance. Even though she won't always come. And around 250 multiple choice questions per section. A ton of busy work. You only will learn what you teach yourself.

I've had her for FIN 220 & 422...she's a really really nice woman. She's eager to help you & and pretty laid back. But, you HAVE to work for a grade. Go to class, take lots of notes...her tests are REALLY HARD. The questions come from the book & her lecture. Nice lady, though!

Prof Hatfield is a nice lady. The tests are pretty tough, but she tried to help our grades by letting us have open notes on the last 3 tests. I liked her, and even tho the class was somewhat difficult, I ended with a B

Take Fin220, NOT QM262. It's alot of work for a gen ed, but very useful. You learn alot of practical applications. I took her for QM b/c i liked her in fin so much, but was dissappointed. Curves on a great scale though! Very approachable if you need help (in both classes).

She summarizes each chapter with powerpoints that are so much easier to understand than the text. Dr. Hatfield is a nice woman and she lets you have cheat sheets on exams (including the final.) As long as you read her slides and apply it to the homework, it will be easy.

I didn't like her class. She had slides, but even those weren't her's. She just read off them and they weren't helpful. Her exams are also from the book and are very detailed. She does let you have a sheet of paper front and back, but if you don't put enough detail into them, it's useless. The project is insane! I'd rather have homework and quizzes.

Give you questions with the wrong anwsers. You ask questions in class and she doesn't really anwser. Tests are rather unclear. Doesn't use blackboard at all...not even a sylabus. Takes days to respond to emails. The more i think about it the more horrible of a teacher she is. Don't take her if you have any choice in the matter.

She gives you a sheet of paper for tests and quizes which is useful but she is poor at instructing and does not give ample time to finish quizes.

I though that she was kind of confusing at times. I took her for the May interim and she let us use a sheet of paper front and back for our notes for each test which helped a lot. I liked her.

This woman is just horrible. She spent the first month of class trying to figure out how to use powerpoint, then decided to just use an overhead projector, and read from the slides provided. She is nice enough, but doing things like requiring that you show up to a test 15 minutes early and stay late to finish, are pretty frustrating.

This woman does not teach. She reads from slides. It's too bad her slides are pretty much useless. This is the first class I ever took where the equations found in the book were less confusing than the ones provided by the instructor. I lost all respect for her when she openly admitted in class about lying to her husband, too. Heh.

Wow... I thought she was great! She was really nice in our class. We got to cram as much as we wanted on both sides of a note card and use it on the exam. Made it so easy. The project was time consuming, but it was fun and a great learning experience.
