He is a lovely human being and the most inspirational professor I have had my entire time at UIC. If you are struggling or are confused, you can walk in to his office at the Writing Center and he will have a genuine conversation with you. He is very wise and the easily best professor I have ever had.

Vainis is a great professor. I forgot to do an assignment and he gave me a 0 at first but then when I turned it into him he gave me full credit. He is in charge of the WC so if you are in his class you are mist likely to be tutoring once you apply. Super easy. Lots of assignments but they take like 10 min not even. take him if you wanna tutor

He is a nice professor at first. Then he gives you mixed signals and before you know it you are failing the class even after he said you are doing well and you are working really hard on these particular things. He is nice, but also keep your guard up because he can screw you completely. If you are going to take then class take it with Kim O'Neil.

Vainis is probably one of the sweetest most gentle souls you will ever have the pleasure of encountering at UIC. He is a wonderful guy who genuinely cares. Tutoring in the WC is a great experience I recommend it to everyone reading this. :)

Vainis is one of the most caring and honest teachers I have ever had. He has a great understanding for the human condition and is not only a great professor, but a great person. I feel I can talk to him about anything. He is very soft spoken, but his words resonate. The writing center is the place to be and he is the backbone of it all.

He was so helpful. My writing improved exponentially because of him. Everytime we wrote a paper he would grade it and have an individual discussion with each student about his or her paper and then give us the chance to revise. Best way to improve writing ever!
