Comment:
Class on "presenting physics research" w/ Dr. Greene, and I felt like she taught it well. She genuinely cared about our learning. She graded very leniently, based upon participation during presentations. She gave good feedback, but was never overly critical. She's a friendly person and very willing to work with students.

PHYS1911 is an absolute joke if you've already taken AP Physics C. About 70% of the course is straight highschool physics. Greene is a pretty boring lecturer - she just copies her notes onto the board whilst reading them aloud. Exams are 20%, so make sure to study, but they're otherwise pretty straightforward. Great GPA booster for first sem @Vandy

Comment:
Greene is a poor lecturer, as she copies numbers directly from her notes to the board the entire class, making it difficult to keep up with what's being taught. It's much easier to teach yourself from the book. She is an incredibly lenient grader, and having a thorough note sheet is enough for an A on an exam.

Professor Greene is well-accomplished and she goes out of her way for her students. The class is a bit deceiving in difficulty; I wouldn't call it particularly hard or easy. Don't try to judge it from the first few lectures. An advantage about 1911 is that you gain exposure to advanced content that most general physics sequences don't deal with.

I didnt have the best physics experience in high school and I struggled in this class. I ended up having to teach myself most of the content but the book is somewhat helpful. Professor Greene is a great person, very understanding but she assumes we know certain things and its easy to get lost. Very generous grader though, saved my grade.

Lectures are pretty understandable, if you take notes. She assigns weekly homework, but it's all manageable. Doesn't take longer than 2 or 3 hours. Prior programming knowledge is helpful. The tests are not too difficult--just like the homework--and she is an extremely generous grader. I know someone who got a problem wrong and still received 8/10.

Professor Greene is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Lectures can be confusing because she does a lot of proofs so it isn't always clear which bits of information you actually need to know, but she is extremely helpful if you go to her office hours and is very understanding if you need extra time for homework.

She is pretty clear with her lectures, however, they were a little fast and seemed straight out of the book at times. Definitely a recommended course if you are a physics major, it is very informative on the workings and applications of Maxwell's Equations.

She is a nice lady, but extremely scatterbrained. She teaches completely off the overhead and her tests never seem to be over all the stuff that has been covered. She does try, but when she says, I made everything straight forward know that is crap.
